While at the range today I had two fte's in a row so I knew immediately something was wrong. I put it away and finished shooting with my 1076 ( still love that one) not wanting to have a wasted range day.
Later, after closer examination I found that the hook on the extractor had broken off. Anyone else had this problem? I emailed tanfoglio and will see what they do. It is only 10 months old.
This pistol has been absolutely flawless up until now.

None of the custom shops sell an aftermarket one, so it doesn't appear to be a part that commonly fails.  I will be a little shocked if EAA does much for you, but they are only $13, and very easy to change.  PUnch the roll pin far enough out to release the broken one, replace it and pound the pin back in.

Thanks sqlbullet, I was hoping you would reply and I figured that was what I would end up having to do.

By any chance, did you drop the Slide on a Round loaded in the Chamber ?
Many say that could cause this
It's never happened to me, but I have heard that it does

So tell me again how Trump was worse then the 8 years before .... AND what came after HIM !

No, it was somewhere around the 9th or 10th round when it failed. I loaded it up just like I always do, slide open...insert mag..... release slide.

Never touched or had any break on my fleet. I have only had sights break on mine over the years.

I talked to a guy at Hennings and he said he has had it happen. When he was shooting competitively he would replace his every 5000 rounds. Still doesn't explain a failure at well under 2000 rounds. I'm not complaining,it happens and I like the new P match. It's light weight makes it pretty snappy. Very accurate also.
The new extractor is waiting for me at home, hopefully I can get it replaced over Thanksgiving.

I got to hold a new Poly Match a few weeks ago and thought it felt great in-hand. Good to know she's a shooter too.

The new extractor worked perfectly, no tuning required. You got to love that!
