I am looking for a CMMG Banshee Mk10 300 in 10mm. Does anyone have a lead on one in stock anywhere? Color doesn't matter but I am not going to pay $500+ over retail which is what 8 of them on gunbroker are asking. I don't really need one but since when has that mattered. Looks like something fun to play with and good to put in the truck plus it is in my favorite caliber

Why not buy directly from CMMG? You'll pay MSRP, but at least shipping will be free.

They said it would be at least 10 weeks before they will have any to buy direct. I am impatient. I am already waiting on a Shiloh Sharps .50-90 and a Ruger Flattop Bisley 10mm/.38 WCF that John Powers is building.

I bought one off of gunbroker. When I factored in the no tax (I'm in Missouri) I spent a bit more but not crazy. Like an extra $150 but will have it ASAP and in the color I wanted.

I just ordered a 200 series that was in stock and should be here by Thursday of next week

What kind of suppressor does one need to buy for this? I see a can in this vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRQm-preDwc

I have an Octane coming in that was initially for my 9mm, tho I think can be altered for 45ACP, IDK about 40SW and therefore 10mm. What would y'all recommend?

A .45 cal suppressor will work for a 10mm but a 9mm one will not. It has to be 10mm/.40 caliber or larger

How much of a difference in terms of sound deadening and accuracy will it make if the suppressor is for a 40 or 45?

Unless you have access to some expensive scientific equipment, not enough that you will notice.

edit to say:

The difference in gap around the projectile is about the thickness of a manila envelope where the flap overlaps the seam (.025")

also, what can I do with 300 WinMag or 308 Win, or the Creedmoors that I can't do with 10mm? I'm considering the Banshee but 1600 dollars is a lotta coin

Kenk

Absolutely, but would still like one

Short answer is LOTS. Long answer is pistol calibers are typically good for about 100yds in carbines, long barreled pistols, etc. Virtually none produce hydrostatic shock.

In contrast, I've shot deer out to 312yds with my 300winmag and the heart and lungs were nearly liquified. The farthest one went was 40yds, downhill. Most never took another step. That rifle and caliber could easily have done the job at double that distance.

Rifle bullets are typically pointed, more aerodynamic, and maintain their velocity better. Hence, less drop and greater range. Pistol bullets are less aerodynamic, give away their velocity much faster. Therefore, more drop and less effective range.

fyi...the CMMG 40-45 muzzle is threaded .578-28. That thread is thin on the ground. Suppressers are easy to by....adapters in that thread are not.
