Contacted Ruger today and my Redhawk is here. Hope to retrieve it from the FFL!

    Maybe tomorrow!

I had purchased a used one (1982) and it didn't shoot right. Looked like brand new but just shot right and low, so only put maybe 100 total rounds through it. After being out of adjustment on the sights I sent it in for Ruger service. Ruger first tried a re-fit of the barrel, then new barrel and finally stated the frame was bent. They issued me a 2012 Redhawk BNIB so can't wait to see it, shoot it and have some fun! Been building up the .44 ammo to test since it's been gone. :P

I will be sure to post some. I thought initially about buying a new one but got the used one for $520 shipped. Then add $50 FFL fee, another $45 shipping it to Ruger and now another $50 FFL fee for the new one. Still less than $795 for one outright NIB but long wait.

Vice

Man that is great news!

Kind of makes up for that high FFL fee.  In these parts you are looking at $20-25 max.  And they would not double dip you either, man that is just wrong!

Vice

One other thing, an FFL dealer can ship a pistol via the post office.  Using a large Flat Rate box is about $14.  Add about $10 for insurance and you at half what they hit with.  If they want to tack on $10 for a service fee you still come our $10 ahead.

Yea the two registration fees hurt for sure. Oh well... done deal now.

Vice

Sorry, I'm not dogg'n ya.   If that's the way they do business in your area, you don't have much choice.

However, if you have a good relationship, next time ask about shipping Flat Rate to save $10 or $20.

Intercooler

Well not today. He has a funeral to attend but said maybe tomorrow. Guess I will just test some 10mm ammo!

Intercooler

He called back and said I have 10 minutes. So I will take both and this is an unboxing but Sun isn't up good yet!

Sighted it in and it shot great. Thanks Ruger!

I have a Ruger soft pouch I bought, Ruger lock and extra set of wood grip panels that I'm going to sell. Let me know if you have interest.

Intercooler

My old one didn't have the case so I bought a soft. Used a couple of weeks but selling it:

Also selling the old grip panels off the other one if anyone is interested:

It's always a great day when one has a new gun.  And even better when one gets to test it out!

Congrats IC!

And thanks for the range report.

Now you need to get some buffalo bore and garrett heavy magnums and run those across your chronograph.

Intercooler

Someone sent me a couple of Buffalo Bore to test. They are discontinued and 300gr HC or bigger. I have to dig them out but they look crazy!
