I know that it's possible to build up a Glock-style pistol using no OEM Glock parts.  Is it possible to build a 10mm pistol this way?

Found a Timberwolf Large Frame (G20/21) here:

I've got a project now.  Oh, I'm so happy!

So near as I can tell it won't take a whole lot (other than money) to use that frame and build it up into a 10mm Frankenglock G20L with a 6" barrel and a 15-round magazine capacity.

And not even a lot of money (comparatively).  Frame, slide, barrel, and magazines should come together for right around $1k.  That's what I had budgeted for either a Remington R1 Hunter or Rock Island 6" double stack.

Like my older sister in high school, this is DOABLE

Ok...so what's the point?

For a grand you can trick out a Glock 20 or 40 six ways from Sunday, and still have all the stock parts (and warranty) in reserve. Plus, it'll go bang every time.

If you love projects then great, but I don't see any upside to spending a thousand bucks on parts that might work together, when Glock will sell you a complete gun for $600 that's guaranteed to run with the monotonous regularity of a atomic clock.

Oh...and it'll come with three magazines, a cleaning rod and brush, and a carrying case.

I Frankenized my G40 with Lone Wolf Barrels. And a few RSAs if different makes.

It's the grip angle.  I'd have owned a G20 25 years ago except for the grip angle.

TBH the more I kick around the idea of parting up a Frankenglock the better I like the idea of a 6" Remington R1 Hunter.   Grab some Wilson Combat magazines and I'll be ready to knock over some bowling pins.

I hear you on the grip angle. Have you picked up a Springfield? Much different grip angle than a Glock.

I was in my local Bass Pro Shop this afternoon buying ammo (they actually had some, I was surprised) and I saw they had a 10mm 4.25" XDm in the case.  It was all I could do to not whip out my credit card.

I've been a fan of the XD line for a while.  And it was the 10mm XD that launched me on my current 10mm kick.  But if I get a 10mm then I'm going to want to run full Norma loads in it, and shooting a hot 10mm load in a barrel under 5" just seems a waste to me.  Actually under 6 inches seems a waste, and that's what brings me to the Remington R1 or a Frankenglock with a 6" barrel.

Everything you said is doable. Here is mine.

* Glock 20 Gen 3 frame with grip reduction and stipple job

* Lone Wolf long slide milled for RMR

* Lone Wolf extended/threaded barrel

* Glock upper and lower parts kits except for the Ghost Ultimate disconnector and Wolff 6# trigger spring.

It's pretty dang accurate too. 15 rounds free hand at 15 yards with Octane suppressor attached.

I don't get the grip angle complaints on the Glock. Either you can shoot or you can't. I can switch between multiple
platforms and put the rounds where they need to go.

P80 frames are nice.  I have a Gen3 SF frame that's a little big for me, so I went with P80 and it feels great in my hands.  I'm going to do another 10mm since I have a spare SF frame.

Two is one, and one is none.
