Mech tech glock vs sub 2000

I really like the way the mec tech looks and it looks pretty legit in videos especially in 10mm. I was at a gun show outside of Oxford ms and saw a sub2000 in person and it just looked like a piece of junk I had little interest in it. They were going for really cheap compares to now somewhere around 200 bucks. When I look at them online they look really cool. Is the mech tech a solid firearm I would be using my g20 longslide frame. 2000 fps with a 10mm is pretty cool if you ask me. Anyone out there have one and like it. Is it a solid combat or hunting fire arm or more like a toy range gun like the sub2000?

Your impressions of both are correct - the MechTech is a solid, accurate, and reliable unit, the Keltec Sub2000 is poor quality junk, plastic or not. My Sub2000 was a .40 S&W, and about the only good thing I have to say about it is that it folded up to stow in a backpack - that part was cool. It wasn't any more accurate than my G20 pistol, and no faster on follow up shots either, and very uncomfortable to shoot. Cheap plastic sights didn't help.

The MechTech units, on the other hand, are very solid. I've owned mine for over 10 years now, and a buddy just bought his second one recently, with the telescoping stock - that's a sweet setup. They also balance pretty well. If you want a pistol caliber carbine that takes Glock mags, the MechTech is hard to beat.

Ditto Yondering.  My son took a 350# hog with a .40 S&W Mechtec a few weeks ago.  My 10mm Mechtec is still on backorder.  He (my son) shoots a couple thousand rounds a month through it.  No problems, accurate to 200 yards.  It just keeps on sending lead downrange.  Very solid and comfortable rifle.  It just works.

I am in total agreement here
Just wish they didn't cost so much for just an Upper
I know, "You get what you pay for", but they ARE almost as much as a nice Witness
All in all, I REALLY want one

I kinda wonder if in the not too distant future they actually become commonplace.  If it happened maybe different manufacturers would jump on the bandwagon and prices would fall.  Probably just wishfull thinking on my part.

I bought my Sub2000 9mm long ago, just over $320.  Made it really sweet with buttery soft trigger yet sharp break.  I sold it recently for $650 !  The feature of being able to fold it into a computer case, plus limited mfgr volume, gave rise to the increase in value.  Still a flimsy setup, though.

That sales proceed went to a 10mm MT CCU!   So in reality, that CCU is ... really sweet for me.  The length of a CCU with stock is around 31" which can fit into a lot of things.

Keltec cautioned people from shooting +P+ 9mm ammo.  That worried me.  Barrel hasn't enough steel to it?  It actually impressed me as fragile upon closer inspection.

MechTech has a lot of mass to the barrel thickness.  That was the first thing that impressed me.  Got Beef.  They said hot rounds would be preferred in the CCU.  I shot a lot of them, hundreds so far.  Very nice.

I have a MT 10mm in G20sf config. I hang out at a certain gunshop in Catersville Ga, I got to Handel a 2000 that had been ordered in for one of the customers - the owner of the 2000 let me handle it ( it folds up - other than that it felt cheep - plastic )
The owner had a beard almost down to the middle of his chest and swore he would never cut it. So saying - about three weeks later he walked into the shop with a very neatly shaved close beard - all of us were shocked - and figured there must be a women involved - WRONG
The slide handle is located in the rear on the bottom - and snagged his beard while shooting it and tore a LARGE piece out - repeatedly - he said it got him twice before he could get his finger off the trigger. He was there to see if anyone wanted to buy it
