Thinking of getting a new 10mm again...

Been out of the 10mm loop a while for 10mm pistols that is. Since then A LOT of 10mms came along since I got my Glock 40. My Glock 40 was my get first 10mm gun in case I couldn't get any more 10mms for a while. Well it was a good plan as the latter did happen. My G-40 has done well but well...another 10mm will compliment it better! My G-40 see's woods gun duty and hunting duty. Which has seen more use than I expected it would.

The 10mm's I'm thinking of are well for thinking of what ones.
Glock 20 to share barrels and mags, but I don't favor glocks for general purpose carry. Main reason is no manual safety. It's fine for a woods and hunting gun not to have one in my glock safe holster, but I'd like my second one to be able to carry. Well unless I find a great deal on a gen 3 or gen  one around.
A double stack RIA make one.

And that's my problem I can't filter out what would be a good affordable but yet decent 10mm with all the offerings.

Budget I'm thinking of in 500-600 range group.

Any suggestions would be great.

I saw on Grab a gun there was the pretty RIA 52000 for just over a 1000...one like that is tempting me...

Morning, the ROCK Ultra FS HC  is an awesome budget weapon,. Mine has served me well, and has a 16rd capacity

Dont overlook the Springfield XDm 4.5 and 5.25. I have the 4.5 OSP version and it is a very nice pistol. I paid $640 otd for it.

The Sig Sauer might be a good choice but a little over your budget...Good luck with your next 10mm.

If you're looking for a manual safety the Sig Sauer or a 1911 are the only options I can think of. Since you're thinking of a carry gun, you might want to consider a Kimber TLE II. Night sights and front grip strap checkering out of the box are nice things to have. Mine is very accurate and reliable. Unfortunately, both are over your stated budget.

For less money, and features, lot's of folks here are happy with the RIA offerings in 10mm.

Good luck, let us know what you come up with.

For $650.00 - $750.00, it's tough to beat the Rock Ultra full size HC. It is interesting that most all of the online outlets are currently sold out
Thanks

My Rock Island Ultra FS HC 10mm works great. I got it specifically for going out into the woods and wanted a large cap pistol.

The Rock is for sure a beefy weapon, but with the correct holster or chest rig, it carries quite well

Rock Island Ultra pistols are pretty dang nice for the $$ and fits your need for the manual operated safety.

I have a the Ultra FS HC and while it is very nice, I wouldn't want to use it as a carry weapon.

I recently picked up a Sig 1911 10mm TacOps. I've been very happy with all of the Sig 1911 style pistols I've owned. It's out of your stated budget but worth considering.

The EAA (Tanfoglio) WITNESS P FULL SIZE is well within your price range and has a safety. Mine has been trouble free and reliable. It also doesn't weigh too much to carry comfortably. Capacity is 13 + 1. The EAA home page has far more detail.

Roguer, I will give a +1 on Tanfoglio.

I'm a big fan (and have been since the early/mid 90's) of Tanfo pistols starting with my compact 10mm. I carried and shot that little fire breather for many years and it's still churning along.

Whatever you decide on be sure to post it here.

Oh, PS... your profile doesn't have your location but if you're in or near south Florida, I'd be happy to let you have a go at my Tanfo compact.

When you say the 'compact' are you talking the all-steel compact? Did you find it challenging to carry?  I'm looking from time to time at the various 10mm Witness pistols: the steel compact, the polymer carry, and the 4.5" steel models--and man, I'm having a hard time deciding for an EDC.  I'm thinking the 4.5" all steel is just going to be too much.  I know each has their own acceptable limits--the G29 is what I've carried now for several years and it's okay--but I tend not to practice with it very often because I actually need my right index finger intact. :)

Yup, you're right, everyone has their acceptable limits for weight and bulk. Mine is rather high.

Anyway despite the fact that I'm not a big guy, currently my EDC has been a full size steel Tanfo Limited in .40. I carry it down the front of my pants in a deerskin type soft IWB holster. The steel Compact was a bit easier to carry because with the shorter bbl didn't "jab the jewels" at all. The longer barrel takes some extra caution whilst moving about :-)

My compact which I got well before (I think) the tactical tupperware Tanfos came out. I've never shot a polymer framed gun I liked since my first polymer, an H&K P9s made in something like 1970, predating Glock by a dozen years or so. After that I had a number of Glock pistols and I just never bonded with the material / ergonomics of the grip frame.

I'd like a 10mm with larger capacity than my 1911.  This may be it unless SIG ever does the P320 in 10mm.
