I bought a new gun last fall and decided to treat it to some factory ammo for break in. I got some Fiocchi and some Sig. In my shady history Ive used almost any brass but tried to maintain a supply of Starline. Reloading the Sig brass revealed it to be 3 grians heavier than the Starline. The amount I have hasnt been enough to draw full conclusions but so far the Sig has been more consistant than the Starline with the bullet seating taking a more constant pressure to seat. The other comparison has been in taper crimping. I usually try to "tap" the loaded rounds into the Lee taper crimp die. Starline brass willfreely pass about 20% of loaded rounds thru the die with perhaps 50% passing the die ring with maderate pressure, and the remainder just tapping and not passing. None of the Sig brass will pass thru the die without excess pressure. The feel of the brass into the crimp feels uniform.
Recently Midway had it onsale at 26$+ for a 100 pieces so Ive got a bag to try. What Ive used thus far seems to be more durable, but still aa small number.

Was this new Starline brass? The reason I ask is that Starline is reported to be a softer alloy and work hardens with firing/resizing. I would doubt that is a consideration with Sig.

rognp, are you using a pass-through setup prior to resizing?  Pass through sizing is very beneficial with the 10mm brass.
I use the LEE Factory Crimp Die with its guts removed to pass through size all 10mm brass (Bulge Buster)  This resizes the entire case along it entire length, prior to resizing and depriming on my RCBS carbide sizer die.

SIG Brass is good Quality.  Starline is a true handloaders brass and is softer to start out with and will get a little stiffer are each shooting and resizing...

My Starline brass is new in regard to never having been loaded before, Ive had it however for 5 or 6 years. Got a big bag back then. I have not had a need to pass thru size since even with the hottest loads ive used the cases have never exceeded 0.003" expansion if I recall correctly. My G20 has OEM, KKM and LW barrels. They all support well, with the LW being tight. My P220 is a bit looser but all brass is not over expanded.
What I see most often with the Starline is some variance with seating effort but a lot of variance with taper crimp. I dont see this with the Sig brass.  As an old BR shooter the Sig resembles Lapua and the Starline is more like good run LC or GD brass.

One curiosity of Starline brass is that with multiple firings of moderate- heavy loads is that the headstamp starts to "fade" This goes with the softer observation.
