I had my eye on an M10 but the ammo cost is 2X Mosin food and I have a good bit. Lately I have been researching the Vepr line and only found one failure and that was an extractor. We know the Mosin is pretty tank solid and proven! My debate is getting the Rock Solid scope mount on the Mosin and finding a scope to work right on it, or purchasing one of these which they also now have a 10 shot mag:

The bottom one has a fluted and ported barrel. I don't really like ported so the top one appeals to me more. Sell the Mosin and add $1200 + to get into one of these or find a scope setup that works?

When you have hits on target with your feet moving, you're a shooter... all else is target practice.

I would up the video quality to 720p so you can really see it.

Here is the other one with 10 round mag. Watch in better quality:

That's what I thought, was not sure.I remember you talking about this some time ago.My co worker just got his from Buds 3 weeks ago, took like 4 months but well worth it.Were lookin to shoot it first time once weather gets a little warmer,he is 60,so I understand. He's retiring and wants a shtf rifle,i guided him to this.Features are very nice outside a basic AK,quality. But your ammo point is well taken. If there ever is a import ban ammo will be part of it,one has to think this way in this commie enviorment. So stacking it cheap is a concern.Man AK Ammo is rising and the 54r has to,but still a better deal.If a crises were to happen, what caliber would be more available in a shtf senerio?Id say the 7.62x39.Meaning if you had to pick up dead persons weapon/ammo,odds are 7.62x39 are all over.Sounds crazy, but were in crazy times. That VEPR with scope, sniper time.

These two beat many of the others in the right areas.

7.62X39 may be easier to find but then again I have been buying the 440 round vacuum sealed tins of 7.62x54. 10 of those should last a while if needed  ;D

Now it looks like the ban isn't going to happen so the hunt is on again.

Buy it cheap, stack it deep ;D On the ban,im not so sure.If another high profile incident happens, look out brother. This administration has some yrs to go.I look at it this way,it can happen at a moments notice,im not drinking the Kool Aid by any stretch.

7.62X39 and 7.62X54R rifles are VERY apples vs oranges.  You need one of each.  (No smiley cause I am dead serious)

Picked up a vepr in 7.62x39 last year just before they released the none slant cut recivers.  Been very impressed with it a Lot more accurate than I was expecting . Owned a slr95 back in the 90s when they first come out very good rifle actually regreted selling it . And was looking to get another arsenal but saw the vepr and took a chance glade I did . I would probably give the vepr slightly high marks above the slr 95 .

Well guess that's the end of the veprs .
Glad I got one before the ban.
