So I've had the XDm 10 4.5" for a couple of months now and I've noticed that I'm having a little trouble maintaining my grip on the gun with full power 10mm loads. I'm not quite ready to take a soldering iron or wood burner to it. Has anyone here tried the various pre cut grip tape offerings available? Any other suggestions would be welcome, as well.

I have not had them on an XDm, but I have used them on other platforms.  Great utility, low elegance on the platforms I have used them on.  I think that low elegance complaint falls off fast on a polymer gun as it is already all about utility.

Morning Graybeard, I have the Talon grips on my XDm 3.8 compact 9, and has made a huge difference. For $17.00 you can't go wrong. If you don't like them, removal is painless they say
Thanks

Thanks for both replies. I'll probably go that route. Utility is definitely the key.

Being left handed has it's disadvantages. RH twist rifling torques guns to the left. It's just enough to cause my strong hand thumb to slip a little.

Yep, I'm a lefty also, and has helped a great deal. Just use care installing the grips. They lineup perfectly if you follow the instructions to the T.

Good tip, thanks!

My wife helped me with it, Lol...good call on my part 😀

Afternoon Graybeard, Talon offers two types of grip tape; one is more abrasive, and the other is more of a soft rubber feel, I went with the less abrasive rubber ones

Evening Graybeard, I'm sure you have seen the texture description for the Talon grips (granulate or rubber texture) but thought others may be interested. If these are going  to be applied to an inexpensive 4 - 7 hundred dollar polymer pistol, they are hard to beat at $17.00 dollars, plus if for some reason you don't love them, they can be removed easily
Thanks

What is the difference between the rubber texture and granulate texture?
The granulate texture is often compared to skateboard tape or sandpaper. It helps maintain positive grip on the firearm even when hands are wet, slippery or greasy. Granulate texture is typically preferred in competition shooting or holster carry and provides the best grip enhancement. The granulate texture may be uncomfortable during a concealed carry, but can be made smoother by sanding it with 120 grit sandpaper.
The rubber texture is a textured rubberized material that maintains positive grip on the firearm and is well suited for complete comfort during concealed carry. This also ideal for those with softer hands.

I ordered the black rubberized material. Should be here next week.

Good choice, they will likely arrive faster than anticipated : )
