Any thoughts on quality night sights for the XDm compact 3.8" 9mm?
Thanks

I like Trijicon sights on my guns. The Truglo TFX sights are also very good. Look on a Xdman.com

From what I can tell, the MEPROLIGHT, model ML11420 night sights look like a good option for my XDm 3.8 / 9, and the price seem right at $71.59...Thoughts?
Thanks

That's a pretty good price for those. They should serve you well.

It is, plus free installation, they did tell me that the original sights may be toast, as they are notoriously difficult to remove from the XDm, I told the owner...that's fine as long as the new ones are installed / positioned  correctly 😀

That's an excellent price installed. I've installed several sets of night sights on M&Ps. They're also really tight. Never had to put a set of originals back on and don't think I would. After you do it a few times it's pretty easy to match the alignment of the original sights. A couple pieces of tape on the slide and a fine point Sharpie is one way.

So I buy the night sights and arranged to have them installed today. Once at the shop, one of their smiths took my XDm to the back shop area to install them, only to return with my new (broken) front sight in hand. Because they only had one set of that model sights in stock, away I went with the reinstalled factory sights. My only concern is that he positioned the original sights correctly. If not...I'll be back : )

At this point, I think I'll stick with my white dot rear / fiber front

Having the correct sight pusher for the gun, or a really good (expensive) universal sight pusher is the key to installing night sights. Even then, stuff can happen. Especially if one is trying to hurry. The trick to installing a dovetail sight that is just too tight and won't move is sand off a little material from the bottom of the sight, so that it sits just a little bit lower in the dovetail slot.

If they're not charging you for the broken sight, I'd give them another shot. Perhaps with a little coaching, such as, don't put the slide in a vise. Hold the slide in one hand and the sight pusher in the other. If you're unable to twist the sight pusher screw and hang on to the slide, it's too tight. Push the sight back out and remove some material, then try pushing it in again. Also, and obviously, never try to pound on night sights with a punch. If that's what they tried, run, don't walk,  away.

Good luck with it. The Meps are great sights and worth a little aggravation.

Thanks Graybeard, I'm pretty sure it was just a fluke. It's a big GS, and they specialize in weapon's like  JP Enterprises AR's, Nighthawks and Wilson Combat pistol's. As for their prices, it's hit and miss, normality miss
