mounting a red dot on my Glock 20

This project has sucked almost from day 1...the tru glo.fiber optic sights were incorrectly  mil
led.  Called tru glo and was.basically told to.get bent.  Returned them.  Ordered a clamp on weaver rail for my L3 micro red dot..it pushed my frame down a noticeable  1/4 inch.  Returned.   Ordered a docter sight.  Screws from L3 are too.short.  bought new longer ones....red "dot" is more of a fuzzy egg.  EXASPERATED

Yeah, I have Crimson Trace laser grips on all my 1911's, and they make them for Glock.....EXCEPT it seems for a model 20.

I think Yondering runs at least one RMR on his Glocks.  He may be able to offer some insight.

I do have a Trijicon RMR (RM01 model) on my G21 slide. My slide is milled, so the RMR mounts directly to the slide, and the tall suppressor sights are visible and co-index with the red dot. You could do the same with a Leupold Deltapoint, Burris FastFire, etc, but of course it depends what you want to use it for; the Trijicon is certainly the most robust, for a defensive pistol.

I do think the milled slide and co-witnessed sights are far superior to the dovetail mount that some use. Again though, it depends how much you want to spend, as you do get what you pay for in this arena.

I feel your pain on the fuzzy dot; that's pretty much useless and would be exasperating.

Thanks fellas.  I was hoping to avoid the milled slide expense but inevitability is looming at this point.

Milling the slide definitely adds to the expense (and don't forget the cost of suppressor sights too!), but adds to the end result too. A side benefit with the milled-in RMR is that it makes a nice charging handle, and is still sturdy enough to use as a club if necessary. (We did practice that in a training class I went to, kinda fun!)

Randominator has the same stuff as me!  Mine turned out like that...finally...shooots good so far!   Only difference is a metal shield around the rmr.  A little extra ding protection @

It will ... but only for the Gen3 models. CTC has yet to release a model for the large frame Gen4 Glocks.

Some adventurous souls have installed the LGS-850 (the model for the Gen4 17/22 etc) on their Gen4 G21s and claim it works fine but CTC says the diode can come in contact the slide. .. I haven't been brave enough yet to take the chance for my G20

Maybe because a 21 is a .45, and a 20 isn't?
