Look what I got today....

Last year a friend said he had a couple boxes of shotgun loading stuff for me form his brother in laws father.  I dont load that too much, dont get me wrong I was glad to have it just not top priority... Well holidays came and went and I forgot. I was at a party last night and he was there. We started talking and said he would like to get that stuff outta his truck... OMG  four months this was in his truck!!! 

We went out and he had about 6, 8.5x11 paper case boxes....FULL.  Well there as a LITTLE shotgun stuff... maybe two boxes worth of wads and cases some primers... But the other four boxes where all metallic loading stuff... some junk some VERY GOOD things!!  Quick run down..3-400 45-70 and 22Hornet cases, 10 Bullet molds. (5 I actually wanted, 6 round ball molds.) 8# keg 296 powder... SEALED!!! Two 50 cal ammo cans full of hand loaded 30-30, 32 Rem, 32 Spl, 256Win, 357, 250 sav, 38 spl, 25 auto, 32LColt, 32 S&W... and One box of NORMA 10MM FMJ!!!







MAJOR score and best part, it was FREE AND he may have some more!

It would be cool to have Shadow do a pull-down on a couple of rounds. If it was a HP version Chopinbloc's gel test with one would be cool.

Congratulations!  One helluva nice score! 

Cartridge of the world mentioned that they thought the Norma 200Gr load was 10.5 grains of a dark gray, very small irregular cut rod shaped powder... velocity of 1200 fps...

Norma data I have shows 200grian FMJ over 11.6 grain of Norma R123, Winchester LP. COAL 1.260" @ 1181 fps and 621 ft/lb energy.  No pressure value were stated.  R123 is discontinued no longer made...

Hey ! That is interesting that you guys like the norma ammo so much. I bought about 8 boxes of it from a guy over here really just for the brass...

It's much softer shooting than you would expect.

The original loads from the early days are more of a collector item to have.  Just like the discontinued Winchester Black Talons, they were made out to be mean and nasty when they were just a 980 fps JHP with claws...
