Just picked up some .401 Acme 200Gr TCFP's was casting my own 200gr TCs but, don't have time much anymore to do my own. They look very similar in design. Been loading mine with 10.8grs of AA9 and these seem to shoot just as good with the same load....But, I want to play with blue dot powder now. Any recommendations for a 200gr TC with blue dot in a Glock 40 10mm?

Just out of curiosity, what is your goal with this load? Targets, small game hunting, big game, anti-personnel, fun shooting? I'm only asking because you are already working with a great powder for the 10mm. At the load volume you describe, you still have a long way to go before max book loads- you might be very surprised at what you can do with Accurate #9!

I don't use Blue Dot but I highly recommend #9, Longshot, and 800-X for the 10mm.

Would love to find a good hunting load for big game.  :D

Well using Blue Dot with 200 grain Cast I run 10.0 even...

Evening Paul, Blue Dot is a great option as long as muzzle flash isn't an issue
Thanks

Shadow,

How does that load look through a chrono? 1150 FPS or thereabouts?

And Ken, that is precisely why I quit using BD!

Yep, I can see that if flash is a problem

Paul James

Not to worried about flash, I'll load up some at 10grs and work up slowly.
Thanks

So what difference in the 10.0 BD powder charge, if any would there be if I were to use a Speer 200gr Gold Dot instead of a 200gr Speer SWC TCBB
Thanks

Friction and bullet length all paly into bore seal and performance...   The cast bullet can provide a better bore seal with less friction and the cast bullet length of the RCBS 200 grain TCSWC is 0.7170" where as the Gold Dot length is 0.6930" thus the pressure difference using the same powder charge weight...

The Acme 200gr TC bullet length looks to be 0.6800" battery on my digital calipers died, so I used the old school ones. Any ways I tried the blue dot loads 9.8 to 11grs with the 200gr Acme TC no glock smiles primers still round even @ 11grs  :o  I didn't get to chronograph any of the loads...I know...I know not smart batteries were dead  ??? And I was not about to go back and get some..10.6 gr load seemed to do very well accuracy wise. Going to load up some more and this time make sure I have batteries. Really wanted to see how fast the G-40 is pushing the 200gr.
