From as far back as I can remember till my late 20's I was always a revolver guy,  Autos did nothing for me, except for the Ruger Mk series 22.  Then I made the switch in my late 20's and the revolvers collected dust for decades.

I never understood the appeal of the 10mm in a revolver. It just made no sense to me.  Then somehow I ended up with one about 8 or 9 years agoy, I don't know the rationale.  Does a gun addict need a rationale?

Then I shot it.  WoW! Talk about smooth and accurate.  Freinds, if you ever come across one of these jewels, use the rent money or do what you have to.  Don't let a S&W 610 Classic slip by.

One of my favorites, and I am not a revolver guy.

Hi,

I just heard about the forum and registered.

There is a 610 available locally, is 550 is reasonable price? Moderators, if it is inappropriate to ask questions about gun values, please delete post.

BamBam, welcome to the forum...if you find a 610 for $550 you better jump on it fast, do not pass GO!  :o

Hey Bambam, welcome to forum.

I would gladly pay $550 for another 610 Classic in good shape.  Hopefully that price includes the box which should have a good supply of moonies in it.

They are really sweethearts.  Grab it if you can.

Good Luck

I want one,   not really a revolver guy either.    But my next few guns will be revolvers,   I do love the not having to look for my brass after shooting revolvers.

Yeah, shagging brass does get old doesn't it.

And the moonies make it all so slick!  Better than a speed loader.

I have had a few days I just took out 22s to avoid this all together.    Somehow half of that brass always makes it right into my range back.

To all responders on the 610 pricing, thank you. I do love my Delta Elite, but the fun factor of the revolver is indeed worth having one. I'll post if I were to end with the piece.

Good Luck Bambam, I hope it works out for you.

Chasing brass is definitely a problem that needs a solution.  I like to shoot semi-autos, but I hate to police the brass afterwords.  And I hate it even more when it is spread to #$&& and gone and I lose 20%.  At least the Garand makes a nice pile just a few feet from me.

Nice looking 610- I bought a 610  during the early 90's  Lost place to shoot after about 2-3 yrs so I stopped until about 2 yrs ago.  My 610 has the fluted cylinders and  I love it.  Accurate and smmmooooth trigger  It seems to do well with about any size projectile and powder.I t will be one the last pistols I will let go.  Spend time loading the clips usually the night before but no time at the range picking up brass. My lgs had one (w/unfluted cylinder ) about a yr ago for 629

Shifting gears but remaining on 10 mm revolvers ( excluding Blackhawks ), did Peter Stahl make a revolver chambered in 10 mm that did not require clips? I though I read that some where but I have never seen a picture of one. This would have been about the time that he and Springfield "fell-out"? I am thinking that he was about to introduce it when he had the conflict with Springfield and pulled out of the American market.

Welcome to the forum Jim.  :)

I don't know if Peter Stahl made a 10 or not.  But if he did I'm sure it costs a pretty penny for sure.

I'm in the camp of people that couldn't find a logical reason for a 10mm revolver until I got one.  This gun is accurate as hell and just a pleasure to shoot.  If I could just train my dog to use the demooning tool  :D

I have always wanted the 610 but haven't found the right deal for one without the stupid internal lock.  I wish S&W would make a 610 like the model 29's with the Target Trigger (the triggers on my mod 29 and mod 19 are so sweet), Hammer and white outlined rear Sight with red ramp front Sight.  Square Butt with the good wood grips.  An 8 3/8" barrel would be great to hunt with.  Stainless Steel or Nickel Plated.  8)

I also want/wanted one but when they demand $1300 for them I am happy with my Redhawk. I beat on Ruger to do the GP100 in one all the time since supposedly the 610 frame is overkill.
