first blood with my XDM

Monday evening I got an invite to shoot hogs on a friend's Central Fla. hunting lease. the land owner wants the members to shoot as many hogs as they can. they dropped me off at a nice platform stand overlooking a feeder. I was originally planning on shooting with my 300 Black Out AR 15 but since the feeder was only about 20 yds away, I decided to use the XDM. the feeder was timed to go off at 5:30 & 7 pm. a little before 5:30 a sounder of small pigs (30 - 40lbs) came in. I waited and hoped for some bigger ones. the feeder went off and they hung around and ate up all the corn. I finally figured I'd better shoot one so I picked out the biggest looking one and put a 200gr. XTP reload through his chest. he ran into the palmettos. I found him about 15 Yds from where he was hit. I drug him out to the swamp buggy trail and got back up in the stand. about 20 minuets later, a lone slightly bigger pig came in range. I hit that one low and I thought it was a bad shot. he ran into the palmettos and left a good blood trail. when I came up on him at about 20 yds. and he jumped up and ran a short distance and fell. I had to give him the coupe de gras then drug him back to the trail and got up into the stand again. about 20 min. later another boar about 70 lbs comes in. I hit him through the right shoulder blade. he ran about 10 yds. and piled up dead. after I got back in the stand, I saw the buggy parked down the trail. one of my friends walked in and joined me to wait for the 7 pm feeder time. neither of them had any luck at their stands because the wind was wrong. :'( well nothing came in at all after the feeder went off so we went left.

9gr. of Long Shot and a Rem 9 1/2 (?) primer,  they chrono 1200 fps from the 4.5" XDM and 1180 fps from my Witness.

Nice shootin'!!!...and thanks for the info on the reload.

I would love to do some hog hunting but live nowhere close to the action. If the opportunity ever arises I'd take the 4" 610-2 to test my skills, AND the Hi-Point carbine.
