I just traded my glock 19 for a gen 3 21 in a straight trade I got 4 mags and a holster for my gun which only had 2 mags and a holster.
Anyway, the reason I traded is because I know I can convert it to a 10mm. I found a guy that will trade me a complete 20 gen 2 upper. Only problem is that I just graduated from Ole Miss and I'm broke. So I would have to sell my current upper to get the 10mm upper.
I was thinking that I could get a storm lake conversion barrel that way I can use both calibers. How accurate are the SL barrels? I'm going to use this gun for hogs and white tails where I live in South Texas. Everyone has told me to get a KKM conversion barrel but when I go to their website it is not on there. So I don't know if they stopped making them or what. Anyways, your input is much appreciated. -Johnny

Welcome to the forum.

Several guys here have storm lake barrels.  One in particular, Redline I believe, has one on RMA to them for poor quality in the throat of the barrel.  Last I heard he was still waiting to hear what they were going to do for him.

One area of concern I would have would be extraction.  I have heard from many it is a non-issue usually, but I don't know that I would trust a G21 with a drop in barrel as a carry gun.  Should be fine for range work or hunting of non-dangerous game though.

Yondering

Also keep in mind that the G21 slide is lighter weight than the G20 slide, and is not as suitable for the full power heavy 10mm loads.

With that said, I sometimes use a stock Glock 20 barrel in my G21 slide, and just limit the loads to ~80% of full power. Extraction and all other functions seem fine, although I probably wouldn't use it that way as a CCW pistol.

Yup, I'm still waiting.  Mine seems to be a fluke, as others checked theirs and the issue mine has wasn't to be found.  So generally Storm Lake barrel quality seems very good with some just needing a little polishing here and there for feed reliablility.  And that's normal with many aftermarket barrels of tighter tolerances than say a stock Glock barrel.
Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.
