Federal AE40SJCB1 - 40 S&W 165GR SYNTECH COMP BULLET

Anyone tried Federal's 165gr Syntech component bullets in 10mm? They are sending me some for testing, but am unsure how fast you could push a material like this

Ken they are a casted bullet with a Polymer (powder paint baked on) coating.  You can push them just like regular cast bullets and because of the PC they shouldn't leave lead in the bore.
Some powders can attack the polymer coating at the base of the bullet due to their solvents.  When seating you will want enough case mouth flair to accept the base of the bullet, seat them without any crimp being applied. (That can be accomplished by raising you seater/crimp die about an 1/8" to avoid the tapered section inside)  Then in a separate step apply the taper crimp to finish.
Avoid using the LEE FCD die as it can squeeze the bullet smaller depending on it original size.
Power Pistol and BE-86 would be good choices for them, in my opinion!  For what ever that's worth!

Early reports showed them to be undersized. That can affect groups and even cause leading. Hopefully yours will be at least .401".
