I see several issues that would make me not want one. A trigger with a built-in 1/16 inch creep, let off at 5lbs, not on my any of my guns. Then you have the replacable gas ports of varying sizes. Yeah, I wonder how long it will take and how many of those will end up lost. Just give me an adjustable gas block. Kinda hard to lose one and I can do the adjusting in the field, no toolbox and parts required. And for $1400.00 you get a 308 that shoots 1" groups at best at 100 yds. I've built lots of ARs, both 15's and 10's and none ever shot that bad and none ever cost that much. But I guess it's what your expectations are from a weapon. If close is good enough for you, then this might be the right gun for you. But if you want to know exactly where the bullet is going, this ain't the platform. Considering the 308 cartridge has to be the easiest cartridge to get match quality groups from, I'd call this a fail.

Lol, looked kind of attractive when I first saw the article, but you are likely spot on. I did see another one, but in 300 Blackout that may be worth researching at Buds for $847.00. I have never looked into
Springfield's AR family, but am always interested in overall reading/ learning all that I can, regardless of actually making a purchase

So, it is a plain jane DPMS pattern LR-308 that has a slightly upgraded trigger and a trick gas block that solves a problem that direct impingement already solves.

As far as price, more of less in line with build price if you don't shop the deals.  But, if you do accumulate parts when on sale, and build when the parts bin is finally full instead of "i gotta have it now", you could probably beat this price for 40% or more.  I know if the last couple of months I have seen good quality LR-308 receiver sets under $200 (aero blems), barrels under $150 (ballistics advantage) and bcg's under $100.  That would get you the major components for $350-$400, leaving $450-$500 for triggers, buffers, furniture and sights.

Personally, I've never been impressed with the 'SAINT" line.

Not that I'm anti SA or nuthin. I've owned a few of their pistols and still do.

Agreed.  Nothing wrong with them, but they are in no way different than about any other AR on the market.

I ordered one and picked it up Saturday. I feel it's an OK value for someone who does not want to build one. Fit and finish are good and it shoots straight. Haven't shot it for groups but shooting Federal fusion 165gr I was able to hit pop cans at around 100yrd with a Redfield 3-9 scope with ease.
