It amazes me how greedy these companies are. I know damn well it doesn't cost close to $2,500 to produce one of these guns. Imagine how many they could sell if they lowered the price.

If they would make more with a lower price then they're being the opposite of greedy by keeping the price high. Dumb, maybe, but not greedy.

Patriot's absolutely right, plus, then I could afford one : )

IDK, while I'm not claiming that the retail price is a steal or anything, DW does put alot of work into their pistols handfitting quite a bit. And as an cheap azz SOB owner of 3 DW's, I say that they are worth the price.

That being said, I definately wait and look for deals.

Lol, and yes, your likely right, I just need a better J.O.B. : )

Actually the price is reasonable. Dan Wesson is the next step up to the Wilson Combat and Night Hawk Custom 1911 pistols. I paid $2,200 for my custom made DW Stainless Specialist Commander and almost $4,000 for my Night Hawk Custom Recon Enforcer (both 10mm). Both have night sights, magwells, match triggers and match barrels. And that DW Specialist Commander has a slide to frame fit smoothness that is just about as good as the NHC as well as the match trigger that is just as good as the NHC. So, if the Bruin and Kodiak are anywhere near as good quality as my Specialist Commander, then you're getting your money's worth. And if you comparing these Dan Wesson's to Springfield Armory, Sig, RIA, S&W, Colt, Kimber, or LLama, then that is only good for a big laugh.

Hey, I understand havin a hard time affording a DW. Or anything above $1K. Hell, even a grand is a bunch.

I ESPECIALLY ENJOY SOMETHING THATS A GREAT VALUE.
Shoot, today I bought the GF a Taurus G2c. The purple 1. Ya, she has a thing for purple and this gun was a match.

That's one of the things I really like about my RIA Ultra FS HC 10mm, the price was right, and I can shoot it well. This thing is a tank. As long as I dress around it, carry isn't an issue...granted, driving with it on my hip isn't the most comfortable : )
