Gents,

Looking into my next EAA 10mm gun but finding some differences. Was hoping some of the eaa shooters herre would share knowlege. Im looking at the Stock III or the Match, bout 100.00 Difference, no biggie. But when i look at EAA website and comparison, it shows the Match on a "Large" frame and the Stock guns on a "competition" frame. The match has a great rep but is the comp frame much better than just the large frame? Looking for a full size EDC to replace my XDM-10. I know thee are big guns, im a big guy and conceal well. I like the stock I because i would rather have the carry sights than the big super sights. I gotta confess, i love the looks of the Stock III, but i would replace the sights for carry(if that is even possible) and that may take from it a bit? The match is SA only, no biggie, i sometimes carry a full size government Colt..Opinions on your choices and how they shoot?

I have a Match.  I don't have a Stock III, so I can't provide any contrast, but I can tell you about the Match.

Originally the Match was the gun I wanted, but I ended up with a full-size as one showed up at a local gun store at a good price.  A couple months or so later I stumbled on a Match on Gunbroker at a good price, so I grabbed it.  I expected it to immediately supplant the standard Witness as my EDC.

That never happened.

There were several issues that kept it out of the EDC rotation.

First, the slide is beautifully blued.  But, it is not terribly resistant to rust from sweat and body oils.  In fact, it will surface rust if you just look at it and think about sweat.  If I were going to carry it I would want it to be parkerized at the least, and probably receive a cerakote/gunkote type treatment on the slide.

Second, it is sharp as hell.  And I don't mean looking (though it is a good looking gun).  I mean it has lots of corners and edges that are hurt your hands sharp and snap on clothes sharp.  On the one hand, you never lack for purchase on this gun when you need to cycle the slide.  But getting it into a concealed carry holster, especially a leather one, can be a challenge.  The muzzle especially has some sharp corners and edges, and without lightening cuts to reduce it's size a bit it just grabs everything.  To be a viable concealed carry option this gun needs a serious melt.

Third, oversized controls, especially the safety.  This one is a distant third for me today as I now carry predominately in Kydex and can mold the holster to force the safety to the "on" position.  But back then I was a leather IWB guy, and the big, competition safety was just too easy to knock to the fire position for an SAO gun I was going to concealed carry pointed at parts of my body I like.  The safety is easily changed, and kydex can force a safety to the on position on holster, to this is not an insurmountable issue, but it is a consideration.

In the end, this gun is a hoot to shoot, is laser beam accurate and runs like a top.  But it does have some disadvantages for carry I had not considered.  The gun has been adopted by my wife who does not carry.  It now wears an ambi safety and is her range toy.  And you gotta be on your "A" game to face her on the plates.

I've got a Stock III and I can't imagine carrying it everyday...or even one day.  It has a huge rear sight and a huge Ambi-safety with a big full length rail under the frame and you're talking nearly three and a half pounds loaded.

ya, i knew the sights were gonna be an issue, im leaning towards the match or Stock I, not sure if there is a big difference besides one is sa the other is da/sa

I have a Stock III and Hunter. The Hunter is the competition frame, I believe. At least that's what I picked up somewhere else in a forum.
The frames are essentially the same except one has a rail (stock iii) and the Hunter/Comp is just drilled and tapped for optic/thumbrest mounting.
The SAO on my Hunter was pretty dang good, though that didn't stop me from upgrading.
The DASA on the Stock is quite crunchy and rough, but I've seen mixed reviews about it. Some people think theirs is okay.
I think I will upgrade it to SAO at some point, anyway, as it's primarily a range toy for me.
I would attach pics for comparison, side by side.. but they're too large for the forum I guess.
I like my guns the same way I like my music: METAL

Hey, don't mean to hijack the thread, but could you EAA shooters tell me if Wolff has a mag spring kit for the 14 round mags? I need some replacement springs for my Grand Power. Thanks in advance.

Was on Wolff site. I'd call them. My guess your using Mec Gar mags. K10s. If so, they are really stiff out of package. Glossy previous one's were weak for 10. IMO

Sorry I'm late to the Thread
Years back I put together a 10mm Witness Semi Compact for my DTDC:

But it works very well with its 5" Longslide too
A DA/SA Match of sorts:

Granted; it doesn't have the Rail, but it does fit quite well in the Rig I carried my Delta Gold Cup in
So tell me again how Trump was worse then the 8 years before .... AND what came after HIM !

I'm a total fan of the pistols and think other options are better for carry than the EAA pieces. You could do the polymer carry version though.

Granted, the Pcarry would work too, but I HATE Poly Guns
I'm use to carrying a full Steel Gun anyway
I only bought that G20sf this year, to pair with my MG20-M4
