I havent shot the gun in about a year. Im needing a complete knee replacement and that along with covid killed my 3gun shooting. I was still shooting steel matches where I didnt need ta run around but thats mostly with a pistol.

But the gun is and gas always been 100% and Id stake my life upon mine.

Morning CW, I?ve had two full knee replacements and couldn?t be happier. I?ve narrowed down my success and complete recovery to three things, a top notch surgeon, and aggressive pre, and post surgery rehab exercises. You can have the best surgeon in the world, but if you don?t hit the ground running once the surgery is complete, the success rate drops like a rock, all of which I?m sure you?re aware of. My surgeon actually Prayed with us right before putting me under, pretty cool stuff

"The Ten doesn't do well in blowback guns."

Hmmm. My CMMG BANSHEE runs GREAT in 10mm.
Maybe I should shoot it some more, just to make sure.

I?ve read that as well from others experiences, but am starting to think my High Point straight blowback 1095TS is an exception to the rule. No mangled or ripped brass, nothing unusual whatsoever.

I had a MechTech in 10mm.  Buddy has a 40 S&W.

His 40 has been ?bullet proof? since first shots.   Not one problem.

I have a 10mm.  It has shot 180XTPs without issue.  It?s a hog killer.  But, It?s hungry.   Began casting boolits after over 40 years of reloading, mainly for this weapon.  It is my main hog killer on the ranch.

Chamber is really tight on this carbine and required some polishing to make my cast loads function 100%.   I also built a PF45 for it.   My 175 Lee TC boolits powder coat to 179gr.  They fly 1600 fps from 16? barrel.  I kill hogs out to 120 years so far.

I have also shot 40?s through it without issue.

I bought a .40 S&W Hi-Point carbine for under $ 300 bucks.  These little carbines are cussed but they work.  The sights are adjustable and the carbines never fail if loaded with proper ammo.  Being a curious reloaded I tested the HI-Point Carbine to see what it could handle.
I carefully reloaded the .40 S&W until I was well into the danger zone. The next level took the rifle into the 10MM loads. It began firing accurate 10mm reloads in the .40 S&W brass.  Just when I was very impressed the little Hi-Point failed violently .  Hi-Point sent me the replacement no charge.
The Hi-Point Carbine rest in the gun room and will only be fed correct ammo. Hi-Point has this Carbine in 10MM? I may push one of these to it's limits???

That?s good info to know. I doubt I?ll be running any hotter 10mm reloads than Underwood?s factory stuff, so I should be fine. I do find all the High Point hate interesting. I?ve never owned or shot one of their pistols, so I have zero experience, but their PCC?s, that?s a different story, at least in 10mm

No worries CW. I still haven't moved on it. Last week when I was in the store it was still sitting there. Im still on the fence on whether I want to get it or not.

Jim they do make a 10mm Hi point. My dad has one and it is great. In fact he has the 9, 40 and 45 offerings as well. Being left handed I don't shoot them. I get alot of blow back in my face and sometimes unburnt powder. With the exception of a suppressed AR it is the only semi auto rifles or shotgun that I get this from.  It is part of the reason I am still on the fence about the Ruger PC carbine. Every so often I look for videos or reviews from south paws like me who are shooting it.

I also shoot these rifles left handed. Though I've never had much of a problem with the blowback in my face I do have a small solution.

Cut a small section of a cardboard material like from a cereal box thickness. This is going to tape in place at the rear of the ejection port once you get to the range.
I cut a few to size and have some tape in my range bag and tape them in place once I get on the firing line.
