mr.revolverguy, I haven't had the chance to see the HST 200 grain as of yet, in you picture here is there some polymer and any thing else inside the cavity? It could just be the lighting, but is there an "S" shaped piece inside? Will be looking to see what you find out and performance in the gel!

The HST is very disappointing. You get the same results with a 165 in a .40

I'm handloading the 180gr HST bullets at 1250'ps out of a long slide and it's anything but disappointing. The bullets expand picture perfect. Since I'm in Texas and not Africa, I'm not concerned about penetration as most anything out of a 10mm penetrates more than I really like. When you shoot a 400lb hog and the bullet is a complete pass thru at 50 yds, I don't need to kill the hog and somebody else a few hundred yards away. They work great for me. Penetration for me is so great I won't carry the gun for personal defense anymore. It's back to the 40SW for a carry piece.

165 .40 HST typically penetrates real bare gel to about 11-13 inches. The clear gel is showing the 10mm HST reaching about 20 inches. Clear gel always allows a couple inches more penetration than real gel, but that is still a significant difference.

Agree that Clear Balistics gel quite often permits 20% or
more deeper penetration than real FBI spec ballistics gel
(which is the actual standard media for these tests).

He recently also tested the 10mm 200gr HST and referenced the
difference of performance in Clear Gel and real ordinance gel
where Federal themselves reports this projectile to penetrate
13" in real ordinance gel.
