I bought a box of the Hornady Custom 180gr. XTP's a couple of weeks ago, the box still listed the velocity at 1,180fps.  However they were chronoing @ 1,259fps out of my Witness.

Does anyone know how to tell which box the higher velocity Magtech 180's would be in? There are 2 LGS that sells the Magtech 180's near me. One is in a smaller box versus the other and both are blue and white. If the MV is printed on the box, I can't find it.
I shot some Magtech 180's out of an XDM a couple weeks ago, and there was a good amount of recoil, but I have always felt Magtech was a little harsher on the recoil.

I'd look for a box I dont recognize right off. Here are the UPC # for the 1230 fps 180 fmj

I've found some cases of Magtech, range pickups in a couple different ranges. All have had staked primers. I wonder if this is now standard practice for Magtech. I swaged hose primer pockets, so the brass is ready to reload.

If anybody snags a box of Magtech, I'm curious if the primers are similarly staked.

QuoteI am gonna buy a couple boxes and see how they shoot through my Glock 40.

I've been running Magtech in all my 10's. My G29 does well with them, although I don't chronograph them.
