Have a question for you 10mm Glock-o-philes:

I'm on my 3rd 10mm in the quest for dependable nuclear loads.  How much more fps are you getting from your after market 6(ish)-inch barrel over the OEM G40 barrel?

I have a 6 inch Alpha wolf fluted barrel on my G20 and all my research from internet reviews and this forum indicate about 100 fps and 100ft/lb improvement at the muzzle.
Not much but I think the accuracy of an aftermarket barrel is much better and I haven't had feed issues even with poorer reload bulk ammo.
Just my experience but no actual data to back it up.... ::)

With each inch of barrel you could see 50 to 100 fps change depending on the powder being used.  The slower powders usually gain more in the longer tubes.
Bore seal to bullet can also be a significant factor, the less blow-by the more velocity gains with any powder.  Glock factory barrel bores tend to run 0.4015" to 0.402" and significant blow-by, whereas good aftermarket bores can be 0.4000" and some 1911 barrels were 0.3990" and these tighter bore fits show increases in velocity over those looser bores...

I just ran some sig 180gr loads over the chrono with the stock g40 and 6.6" alphawolf.  The alphawolf was 70fps faster on avg.  A while back i went all out nuclear (blowing primer levels) in 10mm and i had to run a compensator to keep things controllable.  When it was all said and done i got 180gr close to 1600fps and a 220 to over 1400fps.  Brass only ejected a few feet but it was the compensator that let everything live at that level.
