I was goofing around a bit today and loaded up some 65gr Lehigh Xtreme Defense bullets in the 9x25 6" Witness.  Lehigh rates them good from 800fps up to 4000fps.

With 18.0gr of VV 3N38, it went 2553fps.

Data as follows:  CCI300, RP cases

16.0gr N105 2311fps
17.0gr N105 2468fps (out of case capacity)

14.0gr 3N38 2124fps
16.0gr 3N38 2377fps
17.3gr 3N38 2474fps
18.0gr 3N38 2553fps (out of case capacity)

The top loads have the powder up to the top of the neck, but the Lehigh bullets are hollow base, so it doesn't compress it all that much since the excess powder can go up inside the bullet.

Jeez!

Good stuff.

American Rifleman this month has an article on the 7.5X27 and the FK Brno.  I just couldn't keep from wondering how it beats the 9X25, and this re-enforces that thought.

I read that article also.  They went to an awful lot of effort designing that round also.  Oh well.

Typical European Engineering.  They spent so much time designing the perfect pistol that the Customer was gone by delivery time.

I like cool guns but that one is a little over the top IMO.

yep.  It may have been perfect, but a Glock 40 with a 9X25 barrel could have been in the field in about a day, and would have been 98% of what was needed.

The specs that they designed to were beyond the Glock.

They wanted a shoulder stock and the accuracy was pretty tight, probably beyond what a 9X25 is capable of at 100 yards.

The specs seemed really goofy to me, a carbine and a sidearm could do the trick but maybe concealability was a concern so they wanted everything in one package.

Awesome news. Thanks for the data. I have a 7" kkm barrel for glock g40 in 9x25. Love it. Plan on getting an ar from ron williams in 9x25 in 2019. Beats 5.56 ballistics and will use same mags and ammo as my pistol!  8lb maltipoo dog named snuggles who hears EVERYTHING AND 9X25 DILLON = House defended.

That is why I said 98% of what they wanted. ;D
