I have a gripe.

Lone Wolf!!!!!!!!!!

You asses.........The supplied Allen wrench in the UAT trigger kit is way too small to use on the side plate screw. Now I am stuck. Ugg.......

I don't have a supposed .050" Allen key.......or whatever size the screw is......idiots. Man I have a LOT of Allen keys but not that one.

Darn, Pablo. Strike one.

Any chance you can take some measurements? I know I'm prying a bit.

Grip length, width, circumference would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Length is 4" on both. Width is 2" LW, 2.125"-2.4" on Glock SF Gen 3. Circumference on LW 5.5", 6.125" Glock SF.

The base of the palm swell is the uncomfortable part of the Glock SF. It doe not hit my hand in the right spot and causes an unsecure grip, IMHO. The LW allows me to choke the sucker and hang on.

Don't know those dims on a regular Glock 20 Gen 3

The "width" is about the same on both. Just a tick over 1". My caliper battery died..........

OK finally took the beast to the range and fired a LOT of rounds through it.

First of all, suddenly my "Glock 20L" is super accurate. I was hitting 12g casing at 25 yards easy. I really could finally grip my gun. I never had this kind of accuracy  out of the 20SF, never.

ODDLY the gun was suddenly undersprung. Even light factory rounds the gun was slamming against the stop with a 19# non captured Wolff spring.............ugg............

Hey Pablo

Other than the odd spring issue you mentioned, any other gotchas or complications?

Did you go with the fully built lower or did you cannibalize your G20 for frame parts?

How's the fit and finish?

I think I'm gonna pick one up based on the size info you provided (thanks again for that), but I'm not sure which variety of the lower I want to go with...

No. Worked perfectly. I recommend it. Fit and finish are fine - and trust me, Lone Wolf can be a little rough in the fit department after building out the Polymer80s with parts from the top suppliers - I see this first hand. I did the deal for them to assemble because I thought they would put the fancy trigger in. But they just send that UAT trigger separately. That trigger isn't anything that special IMHO. Your call on that, but seems like frames are really easy to assemble now after wrestling with multiple Poly80s

It's cool because I now just have essentially a stock 20SF back in the stable.

The problem is the usual LW problem. They were to slow to the market. This may hurt their sales, but the product is OK.

If Polymer80 comes out with a large frame, that would be tempting in some ways - but they probably will have teething issues - pins lining up and such - trust me, tolerance stack up on those kits can be fun.

I have been away.

SO GLAD to see this is a reality!  Ill get my GS to send out the license and get myself one for sure! My G20 slide has been vacant too long!

Hmm, I missed that they're also offering G29/30 frames...  My woods gun will be getting a new frame!

Well, I ordered mine today. Full size, textured, built, w/ polymer trigger shoe.

I'll write up some notes on it after I get it to the range with my G20 and G40, and also try it out on my MechTech.

Just got back from the range. 200 rounds of cheap S&B I can buy at my range for $13 per box of 50. Not a lot of rounds, but enough for an initial commentary. I split them between my G20 and G40 slides, favoring the G20. No difference between them from a reliability standpoint.

So, the elephant in the room from my perspective: the grip on the Timberwolf lower is night and day easier to hold and shoot than the standard G20 grip. I have small-ish hands, so I was never really confident that I could control the standard one well enough for defensive use, but if you have any issues with the standard grip then I highly recommend this as an alternative. I finally felt like I was shooting the pistol instead of just holding on best I could.

The grip angle changed to slightly more upright than the stock grip, and the majority of reduced size appears to have come from eliminating the large gap at the back of the grip entirely. Note that if you use accessories that make use of that gap (ie. storing a laser battery or something) that option isn't available here. The finger grooves are gone, so until a gen 5 G20 comes out, here's your best option for getting rid of those ridges - definitely an improvement for me.

The basic stippling is good, but nothing to shout about or complain about. Slightly more abrasive than the standard Glock frame.

I did have to adjust my grip a bit, as my normal technique of aligning my thumbs along the side of the pistol repeatedly engaged the slide stop. I may swap the standard slide stop back in so I can use the grip I'm used to. Not necessarily a knock against the enhanced slide stop that comes with the built frame, but mildly annoying for me.

I'm not going to comment on the effect the new frame had on my accuracy, since 1) I'm not a great pistol marksman yet; 2) I also changed the sights on the slide, so I was also getting used to them.

The fit and finish is at least on par with the standard frame. I took off the mag well accessory.

The trigger is an interesting thing. Take my impressions with a grain of salt, but here you go... It feels very smooth, with a long take-up which feels like it has three stages - easy, heavier, break - though the break is consistent and the reset is notably short. I don't shoot to reset. It's different from the stock trigger, no doubt about that. The trigger pull felt heavier overall, or maybe longer is the better word, but not more difficult to shoot (possibly a result of my grip being so much better).

I think that covers all the bases. I did attempt to mount my MechTech upper, but while I was able to get it to latch, rack, and release the striker at home, I wasn't able to get it to latch at the range. The frame is marginally longer at the muzzle end than the standard frame, and the foam pad sized to hold the standard frame in place against the locking block is slightly too thick to accept the Timberwolf frame. I could shave off some of the pad, but that would likely make the standard frame incompatible with my MechTech upper; so I'm gonna leave it be, dedicate my G20 frame to the MechTech, and use the new frame with the pistol slide.

Let me know if anyone has any questions. Overall rating between 1 and 10 is: buy it.
