Yes, yes it is.

Anyone who won't listen to reason, law of philosophy I give the same advice to.  And I plead with them to take it.

Move.  I understand there are a few countries in the world that already have the type of gun control, healthcare and tax/spend policies these types think  make a great society.  They should do what my ancestors did when they grew unhappy with their country.  Move to one of the countries that already holds your ideals.

But don't stay here and legislate away mine.  Me and mine won't lay down so you can have your perfect world.

It's never made sense to me that anyone's perfect world would entail giving up freedom while at the same time making life easier for criminals.  Of course that's just the tip of the iceberg.
Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.

Their arrogance tells them, however, that they are entitled to have the world as they'd like it without having to move :-/

I hope it's just a PR Campaign to make it look like he's actually doing something about snatching guns up.

In regards to Shadows post, I live in NC, I have heard from state LE officials of the "new" training going on as far as clearing entire neighborhoods. Most think it's for gun confiscation, I'm not sure. I pray for them that it's not the case.

Well, think of it this way. Building clearing has been around for a long time. Why train for multiple buildings in succession? Whatever reasons they would have to go from home to home would be a new one... most of the problems that are resolved with entry have been around for a long time...why the change?

When you have hits on target with your feet moving, you're a shooter... all else is target practice.

While I DO question some of their motives, this training has been around for years.  It's SOP for most modern departments/agencies.  Every SWAT or SpecOps detachment will attend the training, at some time.  Budgeting issues within departments is usually the only reason more don't do it.

QuoteEntire neighborhoods?

Multiple structures or a neighborhood.  What's the difference? It's SOP, searching for a fleeing felon, or a missing child.

No it's not. You don't just start kicking in doors through out a neighborhood because you are in search of a felon or a missing child. Nor is it simply SOP to make entry because they are in a dwelling.

Training to breach a structure doesn't mean that's what you do, every time.  We train to do it, because everyone knew how to knock before they got out of their rack that morning.  What would happen if you had to, and no one on your team knew how? It isn't like in the movies, BTW.  It's a tool in the box, like hand-to-hand or bayonet training.  You hope you never need it, but know you are able if the need arises.  If you were truly a member of the corps, you'd understand at least that.  People are making a lot more out of it than it really is.  This is NOT news, unless an agenda needs it to be.
