Hello all,

My name is Rick, I live in NY and want a 1006 bad. I need to get it before the 7RD magazine law goes into effect on April 15th.

Where are the best places to find them? Gunbroker? Armslist? Any help would be greatly appreciated. congerz83@gmail.com I want to be a full fledged member of this group. My first step is to actually find a 10mm.

Thanks

If the NY law allows higher capacity magazines to be grandfathered and kept, just buy up some magazines, and get them in your possession.  You don't necessarily have to have the weapon, and can obtain one later, either with lower capacity magazines, or without magazines.  A lot of folks in CA did that in 2000, before the magazine restriction went into effect.

I saw that listing yesterday. I was gonna jump on it, but I don't like target sights.

I understand what you're saying about buying the magazines now. If fact I already have one.  I suppose I don't NEED one now, but that's what I'm telling myself so I can buy one quick without remorse. Ha ha

There are several on  Armslist. Search for 1006, 1026, 1066, 1076, 1086 all are fine 10s each with it's own advantages.

I've tried to do my homework on the 10x6 series and I want the 1006 because I want full size and I don't like DAO pistols.

Only the 1046 and 1086 are DAO. As to the size really they are all full size. The 1066 and 1076 have a 4.25 inch barrel. The 1006, 1026 have a 5 inch barrel.

Gunbroker will be your best bet. Gunsamerica isn't all that good and gunauction is ok but selection is thin. Armslist is ok if you stay in the state for the search but will yield alot of decent results if you open it up to all states. The problem with Armslist is that most people (at least in my experience, especially now after the new law has passed) will not send to NY.

That's my point. The laws do not take effect until 4/25/13... I've had to explain that to eBay sellers in my mad dash to hoard magazines for my M9 and Browning Hi-Power...

I'll keep my fingers crossed... I'm beginning to see the 1006 with fixed sights in my sleep! My 9mm are getting jealous.  ;D ;D ;D

Great law.

It looks like the Glock model 36 and 39 will be the only semi autos legal in NY, along with the 7 round 1911's.

Many of the pocket autos will be ok, like the LCP, 3AT, etc.

Yep.  The Saturday Night Specials are making a comeback.

I am sure Rock Island Armory and ATI will both see a boon to their compact 45 1911 sales as well.

Wheel guns are selling out already in my neck of the woods too in NY
