Went to the LGS today to drop off my 1006 for the sight. They were totally out of 9mm and the normal calibers. Plenty of 10mm though so I picked up a box of PPU 180's. Makes you feel good about owning a caliber like the 10mm  ;D

I also picked up two 50 boxes of standard .22LR (the limit) but they were basically empty. Who would have thought you can find 10mm when all else is gone  :o

When I have asked for 10mm auto around here everybody looks at me in bewilderment. It is never here, thus reloading and Internet orders. But I have never seen the 22lr situation soooo bad!!!

I hope the day comes (in my lifetime) when Walmart stocks 10mm Auto ammo.
Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.

I had a Walmart guy ask me if I meant 9mm cause he had never heard of 10mm

Lol. Happens quite a bit to me.

I encounter lots of people that I would think should 'know' that haven't heard of the 10mm.

Me too.  Sometimes it's pretty hard to figure.

I wish that was a surprise, but no, my experiences are similar.

When I tell people at work my second gun is a 10 mil, I always get the response, "TEN millimeter?" Then I have to explain the whole 10mm thing to them.  :P

Funny thing though, there has been at least one convert, and he is waiting for Gen4's to come to our FFL. There is also another "semi" converted guy, who I think will take the 10mm plunge when he gets some more cash to spend on a Kimber.

I think others are afraid of it though, like the cavemen with fire.

I have had similar conversions.  A co-worker has a 10mm thanks to me.  Good shooting buddy is planning on a 10mm 1911 once his financial situation improves.

It's good to see the 10mm growing in popularity.

I know what you mean, I do talk about my 10 mm quite a bit but then some shoot one/want one :)

On-line or in locals 10mm is no problem. I always heard the argument about 9mm being more available in shortages. Can't say I agree!

I have heard that you will be able to scavenge common calibers in an EOTWAWKI scenario.  And I tend to agree.  Rick, from the Walking Dead would have had a far harder time keeping that revolver fed if it were chambered in 41 magnum.

But in panic buy situations, a moderately non-mainstream caliber seems like a real benefit.
