That looks really cool! I've always wanted to play with sabots in 10mm, .45, and especially 20ga.  Where do you get your plastic inserts?

He is using MMP sabots they are listed on the web.  http://www.mmpsabots.com/
You can spend a load of money on sabots.  However they don't have a 40 caliber sabot to use inside the 10mm.  SORRY!

I've played with the blue sabots to shoot .357 bullets out of a 45 Colt and 454 Casull. I never got good results with them, because the sabots couldn't handle the pressure; the center would blow out so the bullet would leave the barrel ahead of the sabot. High velocity, but terrible accuracy. I considered seating a gas check between the powder and sabot, but never got around to it.

I have used the .30/.22 sabots from E Arthur Brown though, with good results. Those are a much harder plastic, and are made to handle more pressure than muzzleloader sabots.

I have thought about playing with them too, but always read that accuracy suffered some from the sabot rounds in high pressure applications.  Looks like Yondering's experience confirms that.

Over at GT there was a try at producing a .40cal sabot to hold a .224 bullet, I don't think they ever got anyone to produce them.

But the 9x25Dillon is where I'm at for this need...
