My apologies to this board and to Rock Island Arms.

In a previous thread I posted that my RI 10mm bore measured .4035 groove diameter.  I got this from the bore slug that my Gunsmith  gave me.

A few days ago I found a little  more info on his bore measuring technique using Cerrosafe.  What I found is that this material not only shrinks, but it also expands.  To get an accurate measurement the cast must be measured at exactly 1 hour after the pour.  After that it will continue to expand.  This is something I did not know and something this so called Smith did not know.

So, My bore is NOT .4035 as I previously reported and I apologize for the confusion.  I am going to push a lead ball through the bore myself and measure it sometime in the next couple days.  My guess is it will be .400 as it shoot be.

Let us know what you find.  News like that will put this gun back on the must have someday list for me.

I slugged the bore with three different pure lead balls.  They all measured .4015-.402.  Still over sized as far as I am concerned.  Still gets a trip back for a new barrel.  That's if they ever get any parts in the country.

That is oversized, but my Glock was a solid .401" plus a hair.  If they will replace it with a bore closer to .400 that is good, but .4015" is probably livable for cast bullets sized .402-.403"
