I wasn't taking close-ups back then..  But I wasn't able to tell any difference from that ball powder to any other.. they all looked the same.

Quite a variety of powder types in those samples..  That Lapua round looks like it has Vihtavuori N-110 in it, or something like it.
WHY DO THEY CALL IT COMMON SENSE WHEN IT IS SO UNCOMMON?

Intercooler

I have to check if I added the Underwood to the sheet. Tonight I ordered Buffalo Bore 180's to play with!

RMM

Yesterday I chrono'd 5 rounds of the Underwood 125 gr. GDHP out of a 6" Ruger Security Six.
1640 fps average!  Cases ejected smoothly.

That's about what I figured. I will do them out of my GP100 6" when I receive it. Kevin isn't too good on the heavier weights  :(

Well your strength of ammo's jog with mine but not the numbers. I got your 6" numbers with my 4" GP100  :o

This is a throw-back to Kevin's first .357's. This is the Hex plated 158gr listed in the sheet moving at about 1100 FPS out of a 4" barrel.

The_Shadow

Surprised by the non expansion of those bullets!  ???

tnoutdoors9 didn't get anything with Kevin's Gold Dot either. They just aren't being driven hard enough at that velocity to open as they should. The Atomic Ammo Hex Raggedyman has is in the 1300's and will give a different result for sure!

The one area Kevin needs a change in is the heavy Magnums.

Typo? The initial energy figure is just a bit optimistic. 1600 FPS should be 795 FPE. 957 FPE would require 1755 FPS. Your "tested" figure is correct, though.

Thanks!  Great catch! 8)  I try my best to be very accurate with my posting.  Sorry about that!  My typing fingers must have transposed the numbers...795 is what it is suppose to be.  Correction Update was made! ;D

Kevin's 125's have stayed the same just like he told me. Looks like the heavy stuff has though.
