It's worse than that ... if I understood it correctly, ALL magazines holding more than 6 (or maybe 7?) rounds, for ANY firearm, have been banned.

Pity the poor people in New York state.  And Obama may try very hard to do the same thing nationally, with or without congress.

Would never expect anything otherwise from NYC and Albany.

New York, California, etc. are examples of what the founders feared. Collusion among constituents and legislators can lead to bypassing the Constitution.

The Executive branch does not go after legislators whose records show repeated attempts to undermine the Constitution. So self-sustaining pockets pop up where people are unrealistic or corrupt.

The Courts may be the only answer to breaking up these self-consistent power blocks. Unfortunately, the courts have let the nation down in the past. Dred Scott v. Sandford always comes to mind.

Shows how important the Second Amendment is.

Seven round mags...Probably out of respect to Kimber and Remington 1911's.  Micro stamping required.  Lots of redundancy from other federal laws already in place.  Effectively no more private party sales.

If you really want to go nuts, read it. "CAPACITY TO ACCEPT AN AMMUNITION MAGAZINE THAT  ATTACHES  TO  THE
PISTOL OUTSIDE OF THE PISTOL GRIP"...What does that even mean?  Does that mean I can't get a 7 round magazine for my XD-S 45 since the grip will only accomodate a 5 round magazine?

As I read on another forum....The went full retard.  You never go full retard.

Patriot

Of course, their citizens will do nothing. They will stand by as all of their rights are stripped away. If one chooses to live in New York, you deserve your fate.

Just imagine what NY will look like after a currency crises of epic proportions.Like a giant walmart on black friday, only far much worse. You think some act like savages for cheap China goods, wait till they start eating each others faces off/sarc.Fear not New Yorkers, you will have your 6 or 7 shot shit to fend them off.Better learn some serious tacticle reloading and carry extra mags.

Patriot

The tyranny has begun. This is just the beginning. Will the patriots stand up, or let it happen?

I think this will prove that most Americans will just let it happen.

I just hope that when this comes to my state I am not the only one to resist.

It's my understanding that the state of NY doesn't have a state constitution. The following quote is from the Bill of Rights of the constitution of the State of Georgia.

"Paragraph VIII. Arms, right to keep and bear. The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed, but the General Assembly shall have power to prescribe the manner in which arms may be borne."

Just read where Texas is going to try to do the same thing as WY  8)

Rick1987

I should move to TX before MA gets any ideas

pacapcop

Rick1987,You would be the only one,and yes Americans will let it happen.Romans used bread and circus to keep the citizens distracted, now it's sports and hollywood in murica.

HarleyColt...Which WY law?  Constitutional carry or Firearms Freedom Act?  I have heard rumors of both.  Seems like I saw the Firearms Freedom Act was introduced.  We have it in Utah, but so far the law hasn't been tested that I know of to see of the courts will support federal supremacy or the states rights.

Rick1987, you should move.  Don't rule out the desert west.  I voted with my feet almost 30 years ago now and have not regretted making Utah my home.

Someone just pointed out in the CMP forums that the law as written would make an M1 Garand out of bounds in New York.  Semi-auto, has a bayonet lug and takes an 8rd clip.

Also, covered would be the 1903/a3 "Air Service" Springfields from WW1.  There were only 910 of these made, but they had a 25 round magazine fixed magazine.

These idiots would have us chop and destroy the relics of our national heritage.
