Glock mag jams w/Hornady FMJFP?

I've never had a factory Glock 20 mag jam of any kind ever, until recently. All my reloads use Hornady 200g FMJ Flat Points /"truncated cone" bullets- and they're all right at the spec for OAL.

Anybody else have mag jams? Of any kind?

I know you say its ''at spec''  but I'll bet its too long...  load up a half doz ''dummies''' and see if they will run thru the mag... I find problems with WFN style bullets frequently, this is not a WFN bullet, but just try it and see, nothing ventured nothing gained...

I would tend to agree.  All the issues I have ever had with failure to feed worked out to COL for a given bullet style. 

Funny thing though, for me the WFN feed best on the long side.  SWC, JHP, TC have issues if they get over 1.250", so they all get loaded 1.245".  But I can run my 205 grain WFN as long as I want, just so the clear the magazine.  I generally load them 1.260" and they are fine.

These reports all pertain to my 1911.  My Witnesses and my Glock 29 both eat anything without complaint.

I seat right at 1.260" and I never have a feed problem, the rounds are just hanging up in the mag itself. I loaded a batch of exact duplicate spec dummies, ran 'em through a dozen times at least and the problem remains......

The bullet noses aren't scuffed and the steel insert on the forward inside part of the mag shows no copper tracing you'd expect if the OAL was the problem.

I'm going to test another mag with the same routine- so far it's been only one mag with the problem.

I try to run all of my 10mm stuff at 1.250" for feed and function reliability, however my guns will run just fine at 1.260"...

SAAMI spec is 1.250"

Some bullets will work and feed better at 1.242" (example WFN)
