Do you agree with James Yeager on this?

Some of you may not even watch him. Is this video out of line for the gun community?

He trains civilians and contractors having done security in Iraq himself.

We may or may not be thinking it, but this is the press we DO NOT NEED right now.  this guy is a arrogant idiot.

The guy is a tool, and a useless one at that.

I agree that we have to do all we can to protect our rights but shit like this is not going to help us at all.

Where do we draw the line in the sand? When do we say enough is enough? After they ban AR-15's again? After they ban magazines that hold more than 10 rounds? How about if they ban ALL semi-autos? What if they say we can only have a shotgun?

This guy may sound over the top. But someone has to stand up and say NO. If we stand by and do nothing, we will have nothing. Bet on it.

I have never thought much of James Yeager.  I have never been there and done that as it were when it comes to combat.  People I know and trust who have do not hold him in high regard.  The video evidence of his actions in Iraq seem to me to be ambiguous, but again, people I know and trust who have similar experiences say the video is an indictment.

I also don't think President Obama plans to exceed the authority already given him by congress with regard to firearms regulation.  I do think he will take areas where traditionally the executive has not exercised the full range of authority to the limit.  I have already posted on this forum what we are likely to see in that regard.

I do believe the right to life, and it's corollary the defense of life, are natural rights that a government or organized body cannot legislate away.  I believe I will resist such actions with my life and hope I have have the fortitude to follow that belief if the situation arises.

However, the cartridge box is far removed from the other three boxes of the republic; the soap box, the ballot box and the jury box.  I do not believe Mr. Yeagers comments from his soap box advocating the cartridge box are going to advance our cause.  We now have an opportunity for dialog.  The general public opinion is in our favor nationwide.  We need to use the current climate to dispel rumor and myth about firearms ownership in the US, to build bridges and common ground with the group of people that can be swayed.

Regardless of our personal opinion, this task requires an outward centrist appearance, not a radical appearance.  Any fence sitter who hears Mr. Yeager will be convinced that the President would be right to restrict access to "Assault Rifles" lest men like Yeager use them.

So, while I would certainly fight for my rights if the cartridge box was the only alternative left me, I will not incite such actions.  If a shot is taken at me, I will return fire in volume, but I won't fire the first shot.

"Officials said the decision to suspend Yeager's handgun carry permit was based on a "material likelihood of risk of harm to the public" (TCA 39-17-1352)."

Guess that wasn't the best move to make.

I feel the same from past knowledge.  As for this video, I clicked play to watch it but am getting a message saying the video was removed by the user.
Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.

No problem. Many people saved the original.
