My buddy has a Colt Carbine with the 4X Colt scope that weighs 6 lbs.
It's a bare bones gun with nothing added but the scope. He could not believe how heavy mine was.
The extra weight comes mainly from the half-quad handguard and the heavier barrel. It's quite nose heavy but stable. Nothing to run around with, but rock solid for precision shooting. Head shots at 400yds. are easy with this rig.

Mine should be here end of August. 

RRA Elite Operator 2.  I could not pass on the sale!  Plus, with a name like "Elite Operator"---it just HAS to be the best AR around.  (Said with FULL sarcasm AND tongue in cheek gentlemen.)

Not something I have, but have a growing liking toward the FNH SCAR 17s which is chambered for 7.62x51.

SCAR 17s are sweet but for the money I'd buy a LWRC 308

The SCAR is a pretty badass rifle. If I had the money, but I don't. Maybe someday the prices will come down.
