Certainly no expert, but it looks to me like those bullets were fired out of battery.

David, if you do pull those Double Tap loads try to record the amount of powder used to see how it matches up.  Some pictures of the powder would also be interesting, as most were with longshot.

I was going to post this with the pulldowns but I'm not sure what the powder is.  It's disc looking powder that is smaller than 800X but larger than Power Pistol.  Does that sound like Longshot?  It's a Nosler 135 gr hollow point I know.

Edit:  I guess my pictures are too large.  Whatever the powder is, there's 11.5 grains of it.  OAL 1.250"

Dave's pictures of the Double Tap 135 grain Nosler showing 11.5 grains of Longshot powder @ 1600 fps.

Edited to add pictures for Dave's post here by the Shadow

I sent you a Private Message about the pictures... Thanks for the info!
DT also used 800X in the 135 grain loading in the past as well, so looking forward to the powder pictures...

After adding the pictures Dave sent we can see the DT is really adding too much crimp as it shows on the loaded round and the crimp line on the bullet itself.
Thanks for the picturs Dave!

NP.  Thanks for putting the pictures up for me.

So what exactly are the consequences of them adding too much crimp?

Well bullet damage especially plated bullets can cause jackets to shed pices and affect accuracy, over crimping can buckle the casing and it may not chamber and in some instances I can leave the bullet loose with less case to bullet tension.
