I need to go there.  Glock guys, what are you using for components?  I want to do a 6in slide and bbl with a burris Fastfire for hunting and a trail/camping gun.   Would some of you tell me what works and what don't?

Jay/G20

Well I'll share this with you.
I signed up for the class. Class will begin in 2-3 weeks maybe longer. I have read and read and read ...holding out/waving a handful of cash....and I'm ready to let the fun begin :-\
Read and make your own decisions based on knowledge and available information. I will rely on the place of longslide purchase for any help or advise "if" problems arise.
I already have a name for my thesis or project : G20 Goober Goes LONG !

{shaking my head}>>>>Why.....Why must I be so curious !

Jay/G20

Update: I guess my class will be delayed a little bit longer.....still waiting on class materials to arrive.

I ordered a Lone Wolf G20L custom black oxide blind marked and I guess Lone Wolf QC {Quality Control} rejected the finish. I was a little sad to read that email but on the same hand I'm very pleased that Lone Wolf has "QC" and they just didn't pass it along to me . ^5 (high 5} to Lone Wolf !

There is like multiple posts of people with Glocks suddenly wanting long slides....I kind of wonder why.
Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

Jay/G20

In my case its cosmetics...  1.) I have a KKM Precision 6" drop-in and I just want to cover up that extra 1.5" of barrel that sticks out the end of the slide.  2.) Just to have a G20 that is different from everyone's else's and  the stock version. I really don't think the long slide will make that much difference in performance but that will be determined.
I will see how well it cycles and see if that 1.5" longer site range will really have any effect on target accuracy.

Just my opinion, but it's probably not worth the expense of the long slide, if you plan to mount an optic on it. One of the big advantages of the long slide (vs just a 6" barrel) is the increased sight radius; an optic negates that advantage and will work just as well on a stock slide.

Probably the same reason you wanted a 1911 long slide. Just guessing...

REDLINE

For those that have longslides, what's your holster preference?
Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.

Because I also wanted to see if the longer sight radius of an added inch would let me shoot tighter groups. But I bought the whole gun, didn't modify what I already had. (Dan Wesson 5" Razorback)

Whats wrong with accessorizing what you already have if you are on a budget and are curious about sight radius having a positive impact on shooting.

gandog56

Well, I just don't like Glocks could be a stock answer......and I DON'T! But my 5" Dan Wesson Razorback is a darned good shooter as it is. I wanted to try a longer sight radius without replacing parts on a good gun. Who knows if you would EVER get it back the way it was if you altered it and wish to undo it? Now if you are just replacing a barrel.....yeah, I might try it first. But I don't like any pipe sticking out the end of my guns, either. No silencers or comps on any of my guns except my .454 Casull Taurus Raging Bull. And they are just holes drilled through the end of the barrel to divert some gases upwards just before the bullet exits..

I think we get that. But you trumpeting that opinion loudly and repeatedly accomplishes what, exactly? Are you trying to convince everyone else not to shoot Glocks either? Why do you care so much?

Since your original comment was against Glock longslides, I'm taking this to mean you really don't understand much about Glocks. Getting it "back the way it was" is as simple as stripping the slide off and putting the original slide back on. Takes less than 5 seconds to do.

gandog56

I'm taking it you are a Glock owner. I explain because new posters may not know already why I hate them so. And that my reason why should NOT influence how they feel about them. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a Glock except they mostly feel funny in my hand. They fit in yours, go ahead and buy one.

Well that and all the Glock "Kaboom" stories I've heard of people shooting cast bullets in OEM polygonal rifled barrels. If the Glock DID fit in my hands, I would also get a 3rd party conventionally rifled barrel for it.

Yondering, as I recall, is like me.  He is a Glock owner and speaks well of them only under protest.  I don't really care for them, but dang, mine sure does make it impossible to exclude from the holster or the range.

Jay/G20

Things have moved in a forward motion. I received my long slide from Lone Wolf and popped the box .............within 20 minutes of finding my parts, installing, and racking the slide .....a GREAT BIG SMILE broke out on my face. I will have to get back with all the details but { whispering} I did go out and run 50 rounds through it ......perfect operation!!!!!   I am very pleased!!!!!!!!. I'll be back soon with pics comments and an overall rating.
