Seriously, You Got To Love It

It seems like every single gun magazine I pick up lately has some review of a newly manufactured 10mm gun, or an article about 10mm. I have had one since WAY back when, and there really seemed to not be any interest in 10mm. I have to wonder what happened here. (Other than the fact that most people who actually FIRE a 10mm gun seems to like it.)

Many of the Manufacturing companies, magazines posting on Facebook are tired of me blasting them for not having a 10mm offering over the years.  I'll post on the magazine sites about them only writing about 1911 this and 45ACP that, 9mm also...so I ask where or why nothing about 10mm is written about.  Then it was the AR's too!
I continually post on those sites who leave the 10mm out of the picture and post pictures of the 10mm ballistics and express the love the 10mm enthusiast have for the power and gun platforms that are chambered for our favorite cartridge.

I have written S&W, about making some more 10mm guns to include their M&P lines.  However if S&W doesn't have a contract , I doubt we will ever see the M&P in 10mm.  Same with Ruger, I begged them to make a 10mm carbine like the Deer Slayer, they actually came out with several revolvers.   I have asked Springfield about the XD's.  I have written and asked Marlin about a 10mm chambering of their Camp Carbine and also about their 1894 lever guns.

These companies need to hear and understand what we want and need with respect to 10mm chamberings.  With the many followers on FB they get to see about the people's love for the 10mm...

Yeah, and I just got me one of their new Ruger Super Redhawk 10mm revolvers. Here she is, and here are the very first 6 shots I ever fired out of it. (Flyer was my fault) I hadn't even zeroed the scope yet!

10mm deserves to be brought back to mainstream. It is a magnum class caliber that offer several loading options. Not only that, it's an ideal size, not long like a 357mag or big like a 44mag.

Yet it's powerful at its full potential.

Even the 40sw has its place.

gandog 56, you still happy with the Ruger? I really didn't look at one until this evening. I really like 2 things about it. You don't have to chase brass into the next county. And, you can shoot 40SW ammo if you want using the full moon clips. Kinda like a 38 special and 357 mag. I like the ammo option. Have you shot any 40SW in yours yet? Is the gun still as accurate as it started out or did it change? How do you like the trigger on yours. I'm hearing they are pretty much a 4lb trigger which isn't bad for an out of the box revolver. A LONG range report would be nice including (I hope), different bullet weights and accuracy. I like the 40 I have because it shoots the 135gr in a hole at 25yds and about an inch with 165's. It does NOT like 180's at all. But my 10mm doesn't like anything lighter than 165.

I think the ideal weight for the 40sw is the 155 and the 165. 180 and 200 belongs to the 10mm.

Uw 40sw 155 XTP or GD are excellent for SD for your 40sw. Plenty of energy but not much of a snappiness as expected from a 40sw.

Hornady 40sw 165 CrDu is snappy as hell. Almost as bad as the Uw 10mm 180. Ouch!

Well the first piece of advice is buy LOTS more moon clips! ( I have 12 now) This gun is just too good to not enjoy. I was wary of the moon clips as I never had to use them before (And you really don't need them to shoot 10mm if you have a stick or something to poke out the empties). But it's just like little speed loaders and yes, you get EVERY piece of brass back. Use the rail supplied with the Ruger and use a pistol scope or a red dot scope. It sure helps my ancient eyeballs cope. And from the prior picture of my very first 6 shots, this gun is Deadeye Dick accurate.

In my humble opinion, the 10mm needs a good solid carbine to really get things rolling.

I love the 10mm.  There is nothing in AZ that I am apt to come across that it can't handle.
