I have been on a Hiatus from knifemaking for several years and am getting in to it again. I just wanted to put a post out here to see if anyone would be interested in a knife.

Gun guys generally like knives too.  My daily carry gear includes four:  Case Stockman #6332, Benchmade Adamas, Leatherman Wave and a S&W Extreme Ops CK46BT.

Yeah I'm working on getting some pictures of some of my work. I currently don't have any made yet since I've started back but I have some patterns that I will be sharing when I post the pictures of the older stuff.

I make knives. When I started my instructions came from a real good local knife maker and was real simple. Grab some steel, grab some wood, grab some glue. Glue the wood to the steel. Now, knock off everything that don't look like a knife. Like he said, even if it turns out to be a POS, it's still a knife. I make them for friends and family. I've been approached several times by knife shops asking me to make them for sale. Problem is, I'm more picky about what I make than anybody. I'd drive myself nutz making knives. But I have made some high dollar knives for some of the Texas ranchers I know.
Here's a pic of one that took a while to make. I won't do this again. You can't believe the hours of work in this folding knife. I can overhaul a small block Ford or GM faster. Hidden tang knives I have a few. I have a couple I'm working on when I want to. My preference is to a carbon knife though. I like adding a finish to the steel, like bluing or browning. I've invented a few finishes just by playing with the chemistry of the components. I'd rather make a knife that looks twice as old as me.....and that's old.

knife making is also one of my hobbies. I make my blades out of old files, saw mill bandsaw blades and store bought blade blanks. my dream is to get a forge and make my blades but never did. although I have sold a few of my knives, I usually give them away to friends & family. I wish I could post pictures.

I used to buy fixed blade hunters from a fellow named Bob Schultz in Colorado Springs.
I'd see him at gun shows with just two, three or four knives for sale, he'd gladly sell a knife for the booth fees he paid. If I got there early I could buy a hand made with a custom leather sheath knife for $100.
Bobs blades are worth much more today.   
The only thing Bob ever insisted on was that you used his knives and not collected them!
I've held true to my word and have used a small skinner for 10-15 years during elk and deer seasons and everywhere in between , the knife only gets better.
So build those knives and leave a bit of legacy.

I want the same thing from my knives. A lot of people buy them and never use them so I love to hear stories from people that actually use them and give me feedback.

I recently bought a heavy chopper like your frost wood handle 4th picture in.
I'm hoping to use it to split up an elk this year.

I'm gonna start making some knives again in the next few weeks /months if anyone is interested I will post pictures of my patterns on here for yall to look at. Also one more thing just want to make sure I'm not violating any rules by doing this.
