I find myself wanting another long slide 1911 in 10mm. I've narrowed the search to 2.
One is the Fusion Freedom Long Slide. Seems like it comes with all of the bells and whistles that are important to me. One plus is a 3.5lb trigger. Another plus is the single piece guide rod. Disassembly is just like any other 1911. I hate the fiber optic sights on any gun. Frankly, I can't see them and I use a 6 o'clock hold which means with a fiber optic, I'm shooting about 12-16" high. That the Fusion comes with a "normal" cut for the front sight means I can pretty much change it to whatever I like. I've search the net for reviews and all I get is a mix of "if you get a good one, great. If you get a bad one, their customer service is horrible" to "you can't go wrong". There's LOTS of negative about the guns, most of it with lousy customer service and repairs taking over a year and still not fixed. I'm not real turned on by the finish of the gun but I'm using it, not wearing it so it's not all that important. I don't know if they discount to gunshops or if I'm going to pay extra for my GS to get it for me.

The other is the RIA Pro Series Ultra Match HC. HC means high capacity, the gun holds 16+1 rounds. Trigger is 4-6lbs and will probably need work to get it better than that. I've shot quite a few RIA semi autos over the years and have never shot a bad one. This one also comes with the crappy fiber optic sights. What I don't know is if it is a standard dove tail or will I have to have it machined for a standard dovetail? The extra mag capacity is very desirable if I decide to take it hunting. I like the finish of the RIA but having read about the 2 piece guide rod and the PIA that it is, it's a major negative for me. I keep my guns clean and ready. If it's a headache to clean.......

That's both of the ones I'm considering. The gun will see more range time than anything. It will probably get to go for a truck ride occasionally at the ranch and it could become a truck favorite. I'm liking the 10mm more every time I shoot my Remington R1 Long Slide but it's far from being what I want in a gun. It throws brass into orbit and the trigger is about as hard as asphalt. I'm not able to control the brass apparently with a change of all of the springs so while it's a great shooter, it's not what I want in a gun. Considering the 2 listed, they're about the same money, about a grand round numbers. So what would you buy and why?

Fusion.

Single stack will feed better than double stack in my experience.  I hate that big magwell on the RIA, and they have altered the frame so if you remove it there is an unsightly gap between the magazine base plate and frame.  And a semi-custom for production price.

HHMMM, I wasn't aware that the big mag well would be an issue. They make a single stack too and is far less money. The 2 piece guide rod still bothers me and the Fusion would be first on the list but the lack of customer service and warranty bothers me. The real bad part about the Fusion, they make the same Long Slide in 45 acp AND 9mm. As I was chatting with the wife about it, she suggested getting one of each. Lotta help she is, LOL! A 9mm long slide is appealing to me but I shoot a longer barreled pistol far better. The 7" 30 Auto Mag I have is rifle accurate to 100 yds and I can hit a 6" plate with it every shot at 100 yds with the right handloads. I'd like to do the same with a 10mm and a 9mm. The Kimber Grand Raptor I have will do it but I have to really focus a lot to hit every shot.

I appreciate the feed back. maybe I 'll take the wife's advice and just buy one of each and sort it out later.....okay, probably not.

I always buy when the missus says to. :P

The magwell is only an issue if you don't like it.  I bought thinking I would just remove it, as I did on my Para P16.  It can be removed, and it doesn't impact function.  But it is unsightly.

Which frame fits your hand better?  I have medium-sized hands and only like single stack frames.
I have a RIA and have seen some sights specifically made for their dovetails.  Don't recall where I saw them.

I've only had my RIA for a month but love it so far and the dozen+ review videos I watched were all 100% positive.  I'd like to get the RIA longslide and save some cash.

I have big hands. My hands literally swallows a regular 1911. About the only semi auto I have that really fits my hands is an AMT III 30 Auto Mag which is nothing more than the 30 carbine. Not sure where they get the "mag" from. But it has a very long grip on it for the length of the 30 carbine cartridge in the magazine. For most folks, it's a reach to get a grip on it. Fits me perfectly. I can't hardly shoot something like a Model 36 Smith & Wesson as the grip is so tiny there's not enough there for me to grab. I thought maybe the double stack would add enough to make the fit better. But function comes before anything. If a double stack causes issues, it's out.
FWIW, Fusion is making right now, a 7" long slide in 10mm. They have the 45ACP  7" slides up as a kit and for sale. The 10mm is supposed to be ready by the end of June. I priced a 45acp 7" slide with most of the options. Looks like you'll spend about $850.00 to get a complete slide only. Love to have one in a 10mm. Bet that would kick some serious hiney! I know the AMT in a 7" is rifle accurate to 100yds, even offhand.

I have a Fusion long slide. I also have an RIA Tac II. I can see the better workmanship on the Fusion with less tool marks and stuff. The slide is much tighter on the Fusion. Of course, I PAID a lot more for the Fusion. But it is a lot easier to order little extra bells and whistles for the Fusion, as they will put them on for you before you get the gun.
Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?
