Why I carry a Glock 29

I find that +2 extension interesting. Was that made for Glock 10mm pistols?

Reason I asked was that I got a +2 extension for my G29 but it was not made for 10mm. At that time there wasn't any for 10mm but a fella wrote in and said to go to Glockmeister and get this extension for the Glock 45acp and it'll fit.

It did but the spring was too weak so I put the floor plate inside it to take up space. It made the spring tighter and usable. I was able to get 12 rounds in with no problem.

The +2's I have are not the Pearce brand and they are labeled 45/10mm.  They are meant for the Glock 29 mags, but worked fine on my Glock 20 15 round mags, making them 17 round mags.

I would guess in general anything that fits a 29 will fit a 30 mag and vice versa. The gun frames are the same.

Howdy, new to the forum, but since I really am a fan of the 10MM round, and the pistols that launch it, I thought I'd join in and check the joint out.  Anyway, I carry a Gen 4 Glock 29 because I shoot it very well and am confident that it will serve my needs if I ever really need it.  I carry UW 180 gr Delta Elite loads or the 180 gr Gold Dot loads, and I like the S&B 180 gr FMJ for the range.  I can usually find this for right around $15 per 50 online and it's decently powered and fairly clean ammo.  I use a TT Gunleather IWB Holster, the XC Slim, or a UBG Holsters RTBA Pancake rig for OWB.   I always carry a spare mag in a Tucker Gunleather OWB Mag Pouch too.   I am in the habit of always having a spare mag not because I think more rounds is better so much, but for the sake of reliability and out of habit.   I have modified the gun a bit; the cursed finger grooves are gone, a Talon Grip is on the gun, and the pistol has an OEM Extended Slide Lock lever installed.  It has factory night sights.  I do have the Pearce Finger +0 extensions on 3 mags and keep the stock base plates on a few as well.  I have a G20 15-round mag with a X-Grip Sleeve too, but honestly, I find it a distraction to shoot with it, so it's just sitting in the safe right now, downloaded to 14, in case I need it.  I guess I need to practice with this G20 mag some more and see if I  can get used to it, and maybe start carrying it as my spare mag sometimes.  Anyway, I look forward to reading and contributing here.

As always, I bought all my guns at my local range and when I was thinking about getting a 10mm pistol I had in mind a Glock 20. There they said they only have one 10mm pistol and pulling the box out.

It was the Glock 29 and I thought really? That's a 10mm ??

Hell, I like it even better. I didn't know they existed, a sub compact pistol in 10mm!

I bought it and the rest is history.

"Why I carry a Glock 29"

Several reasons.

1. Because it is chambered in 10mm. Why do I carry 10mm? Because 40 S&W is a tad underpowered for my tastes, and because 460 Rowland guns are just a wee tad too long to easily tote. 10mm is the answer to the following question: If 45acp loaded to optimum pressure levels is too much for a standard sidearm, then what size cartridge, when loaded to optimum pressure levels, is most efficient in a standard sidearm?
Well, if the 45 acp cartridge is reduced in diameter to .4295 inches and the length is kept the same, and loaded to 40,000 units of pressure, this may be too much for a standard sidearm. If the 45 acp cartridge is reduced to .375 inches in diameter and the length is kept the same, and then loaded to 40,000 units of pressure, there may be room for improvement  by making the diameter larger. So, someone, inspired by God, came up with 10mm as the correct diameter for a cartridge that is the same length as the 45 acp, and when loaded to 40,000 units of pressure, is optimally balanced for a standard sidearm.

There are only three classifications of handgun cartridges: Those that are unnecessarily too big, those that are unnecessarily too small, and the optimal balance point between the two: 10mm, full house load. Magazine capacity, bulk and mass of the platform, terminal effectiveness: All properly optimally balanced.

2. Because it is a Glock that is very reliable, and has magazine capacity of ten or fifteen rounds.

3. Because the Dan Wesson Razorback is too pretty to lug around in the rough and tumble world. Mine reposes splendiferousley on my coffee table as what I think is the most beautiful 1911, while my G29 with 15 round magazine rides with me aiwb.

Now that I have experience with the 10mm I found it to be an interesting caliber. Just the right caliber and length that it can be carried in a subcompact like the Glock 29.

Available in loads from wimp (weaker than 40sw) to medium (Hornady and others) to full house (Buffalo Bore and Underwood) to nuclear (Fenix) you have a choice to fit your needs. Also versatile for reloading.

Can match or exceed the well known threat stopper, the almighty 357 Magnum. The advantage being larger caliber and heavier bullet. I carry my G29 with Uw 10mm 200 XTP. Plenty of energy without the snap of the recoil.

I'm glad that the 10mm made a comeback. I probably would not have gotten one.
