Why I carry a Glock 29

I carry my G29 for its compact size. Also it being a 10mm pistol means that it has enough energy out of a 3 3/4" barrel to stop a threat. I have a 40sw and a 9x25 Dillon barrels for versatility. I carry with Uw 10mm 200 XTP ammo.

It has a 10 rnd magazine but can accept a G20 15 rnd magazine. I like the fact that I can stage my trigger into a single action mode. Very useful feature for accurate shots.

And best of all, it's utterly reliable.

Same reasons I carry mine.  I would carry it more if I had a holster I really liked for it.  Maybe that should be something I look into.

I have shot a number of 10mm's, and love the caliber. Is the G29 a fun gun to shoot being so small?

It can be a handful with full house loads but I replaced my Recoil Spring Assembly with a set of 21# springs from Wolff Springs.

So is the G29 similar dimensionally to The G30 / 45 auto? The 30 is what I carry most days, and granted it's only a .45, it is very comfortable to shoot

The G-29 and G-30 are very close in size and weight, both fit the same holster I have...
I carry the G-30 in town where close quarter encounters in proximity of many others are the norm...rural and woods carry I use the G-29 or G-20.

Guess I need to go Shot one and see. I have shot a few large caliber revolvers that just weren't much fun to shoot

I don't find the G29 to be significantly worse than the G20.  I run a Pearce grip extension on my two G29 mags, and I carry standard 15 round G20 mags with +2 base plates for reloads whether I have the G20 or G29.  Typically I keep a couple of 30 round mags in the center console of my truck as well.

If you shoot heavy 357 or 44 mag loads in 4" to 6" revolvers then a G29 will be a pussycat.

The Pearce extension now comes in +2. It really helps controlability but doesnt effect conceal ability. I love my G29. Very reliable and adaptable.
