6 years ago I lost a lot of weight.  Granted I gained some of it back but I have loose skin.  Stand IWB does nothing for me as I print like crazy.  I have never done SOB but it makes sense on a full size like this.  I carry a Sig P938 appendix carry and I can usually find a comfortable spot however that is micro.  I don't think that will work with the Kimber.  Any ideas?

Small of back carry can be very limiting in what you can do. Riding in a car or sitting in a booth eating can be very uncomfortable. If you bend at the waist, SOB carry prints a lot, too. You could try a pancake or paddle holster that keeps the gun tight to your body. A long shirt or light sport coat might help. Often carrying a full size auto dictates a little wardrobe change. A light or white shirt may show your gun off, while a darker one with a pattern can almost make it disappear. Especially, in the sun.

If you live in an open carry state, or at least one where printing isn't brandishing or some other illegal nonsense, I would't worry about it. Most people aren't paying enough attention to notice. With all the people carrying big phones, insulin pumps, etc, on their belts, a bulge doesn't draw that much attention.

If you want to try an IWB holster that is very thin and very adjustable, take a look at the Silent Thunder Fusion. https://www.giholsters.com/product-p/hh1000.htm  They have excellent sweat protection as well.

I live in south central Texas (Austin) so heat in an issue the majority of the time.  As you may know Austin is insanely liberal and anti gun.  I used to not care about printing but so many people get butt hurt here about guns.  I have a shoulder carry but that's not practical eight months out of the year.  I have read that SOB isn't comfortable while sitting but neither is appendix but I was able to get used to it as long as it was in the right area.  I will look into that holster though, thanks

Personally not a fan of SOB carry...But thats not what you asked  ;)

If I were going to try it out, I would probably start with this holster:

Keeps the gun tight, I can position it just how I want it, minimizes printing with additional layers, and can be padded to help with any discomfort I might experience.  And the price is right.

Austin, yah I get it now. Sqlbullet's option is a good one. Might be a little hot though.

When I tried SOB carry with full sized 1911s, it was with IWB  holsters that had little to no cant. That put the muzzle a little too far down, well you can imagine.   :o

The Silent Thunder Fusion might work well for you as a SOB holster if you can get enough cant out of it. You would have to order the opposite hand.

I ended up purchasing the silent thunder fusion.  I look at the alpha but it just didn't like I would like it.  I don't plan on carrying at the 6 o'clock position, more like 5 o'clock so hopefully this works.

I really hope that works out for you. Once I got mine adjusted I cut the ends off of the kydex clips, below where they screw to the holster. Much more comfortable that way. Amazon sells replacement clips for $8-10 if you ever need them. If you're happy with it after you get it, please post a pic.
