Ahhhh! It looks like revolvers lose a good bit and the 4.2" barrel doesn't help much.

It would be nice to see side by side velocity test of say Ruger GP100 10mm Match Champion & Glock 20 with the same ammo.
Maybe I'm expecting too much...  ::)  :-[

Got an email from Ruger last week with the announcement showing an MSRP of $959.  I'm guessing the street price will be just north of $800 after the "new" price gouging disappears.

I would like to have one but with a SW 610 4" and SRH in 5" not sure I have a need, just a want. I'm still waiting for an SRH Alaskan in 10mm  :D

In in for one, should a nice addition to the 10mm family.

Was at a Ruger product development forum last October and asked the VP present if the 10mm GP-100 was going to happen.  He said that is was going through final testing but would not be ready for the SHOT Show but would be released shortly thereafter...and here it is.

Hope to pick mine up on the 16th...

I personally think it is a mistake to rechamber the GP-100 to 10mm Magnum. You loose the ability to shoot the gun with factory ammo without clips. That and I am wondering if the very early mangling of the clips was caused by the constant flexing of the clips since the 10mm rounds would no longer double headspace on the case mouth and clip. I have had .45 ACP revolvers since the 1970s and have never had a clip go bad.  I asked three of my friends who have been shooting them just as long and two had never lost a clip and one said he only wore out a couple of 1/2 moon clips...never a full moon.   I'm also not planning on shooting .40 S&W in mine other than when I have to...like out of 10mm ammo.

..now if they will just bring this gun out in .41 Special...I'd even take a 5 shot like the .44 Special...well I can dream...

This is what I get for being out of town all the time.  Miss all the good stuff.

This is a great offering.  While I personally am not a huge fan of auto-loading cartridges in revolvers, I will look for one of these just to toss Ruger a thanks for supporting the 10mm.

Oh my...gp100 fits 10mm magnum with minor work. 4.2"

Oh this is on the buy next list. Now to find one in stock near me!

Was able to lay hands on at Bud's in Sevierville today. $750 and very tempting!

I'm kind of bummed because I just bought a Super Redhawk in 10mm, then I see that Ruger makes these in a GP-100. I had heard of somebody converting these to 10mm, but I figured that would cost a bunch to convert it, and I would still need to purchase a GG-100 to do the conversion on.

I always get the word too late!  :-[  Well, I think I can load up a 10mm to much more powerful with a frame based on a .44 mag. (I reload)
Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

Hey Gandog,  The thing about loading hotter for the heavy revolver is you would not want to get that ammo in the mix for your other 10mm firearms...  ???

Gandog,
Probably like .357 Magnum in a S&W K vs N frame. The GP will hold up to bucket loads of full bore 10mm.  The SRH will hold up to buckets than your grand children buy.

Yeah, I got that covered. I put the hot loads in a separate ammo box and labeled it "Revolver Only".
