I was talking to a buddy at the range and saw a piece of brass fly by. Looked down at it and thought it might have been 10mm brass. It was! So I asked who was shooting 10mm. Got approached by a young gentleman shooting an STI Nitro double stack. Nice gun! I believe he said they were a limited edition run STI had. He had some handloads so we shot them next to some Underwood my buddy had. These were some hot handloads and topped off the Underwood.

So I invited him to the forum. Hope he joins up.

If you see this, welcome to the forum Chris!

I shoot there too. Maybe all 3 should meet up?

Absolutely brio. We usually go Friday nights but that varies.

Hey there.  It was nice to meet you!  Thank you for letting me try the Underwood ammo.  It certainly is a rarity to meet another 10mm fan at the local range.

Good to see you here Chris. Welcome aboard!

I luv that STI, by the way.  8)

Hey Nick!  Let's link up again.  I love talking guns and 10mm, so it's nice to meet like minded folks.  I love my nitro, too.  I had some serious buyers remorse since I was an impulse b  no regrets after shooting it, though.  Are you reloading 10?  I can't remember if we had talked about that.

4949shooter

Chris, I am not reloading. My friend Will, who you met, used to reload but does not have the time these days.

Sounds good. Will let you know next time we shoot!

The nitro double stack is a wicked good gun, mine will never leave my ownership.  They are indeed limited edition guns.  They were built for the 2016 SHOT show and available only to STI flagship dealers from my understanding.

Hey there, nice username  8)

I was perusing gunbroker for 10mm pistols.  I knew that STI made a single stack 10mm, but was not aware of their double stack version.  I already own an STI trojan in 9mm, so I'm highly aware of the quality and craftsmanship of their pistols.  An STI 2011 for a long time had been my grail gun.  As soon as I saw the nitro, my jaw dropped...I just had to have it.  The stock 26 lb recoil spring was a bear when it was new, but it's getting better with every round.  I've fully detail stripped it and put a mirror polish on the sear / disconnector / hammer basically anything that's metal on metal.  Anyhow, here's a pic of my two STI's.

Welcome to the Forum Chris...you gotta watch old Nick over there!  :D

You have  some very nice shootin' irons there!  :o
If you're interested in handloading there are many of us here willing to help with what we can...and the forum has tons of information to study and learn from...
Best regards!  ;D

Lol/  :)

I really liked the grip and the trigger on the Nitro. The weight of the slide / full length dust cover really helped handle the recoil of the Underwood and Chris' hand loads.

Will be at the range on Friday night if you guys are interested. Probably sometime after 7.

Yep, have wanted an STI for sometime. Whenever I bring it up to my wife, we end up getting new furniture or something instead, Lol
