I'm replacing my puller today. I've had good success with the RCBS hammer type, but was wondering about other manufactures, and if they differ much....Thoughts?
Thanks in advance

Only used RCBS...But, I can't imagine that any other brand inertial puller would be much different.

I've had the RCBS Kinetic puller for about 45 years now. Never had any reason to replace it. It works great for a few rounds. If you're doing more than 10 rounds, you'll learn to love a collet bullet puller. It leaves no marks on the bullet so you can reuse them and you don't have to beat the heck outa something to get the bullet out. They both have their place in regards to type of puller. I've never seen another brand of a kinetic bullet puller but there's bound to be others. When I got my RCBS, there wasn't much else out there but RCBS. I use my anvil/vise on my reloading bench to provide a solid place to hammer the puller. The more solid the surface, the quicker the bullet comes loose and out.

they all work good. as long as you don't hit them on concrete. :'(  after that mistake, I keep a piece of hardwood 4x4 near the reloading bench to hit on.

I am still using my RCBS by Kinetics with the aluminum handle since 1978.  Those of you who follow the pull-down sections can see just how much pulling I do.  I wore out the aluminum three jaw chuck, after writing RCBS they were kind enough to send me a new set free... ;D

Looking at the newer types and seeing many broken ones I stay away from the all plastic types...

I will say that the proper way to use the kinetic type puller is to strike it against the end grain of a block of wood.  I use a piece of 4 x 4 about 2 foot long standing on end on the floor.

If I had to buy today it would likely be the Lyman puller...because RCBS is all plastic.

BEEMER!

When my three jaw chuck wore, I started using a shell holder.  They work good.

I use an ingot of pure lead for whacking. Absorbs shock on hand and puller. Mine's probably well over 30 years old. Have replaced the jaws.
