I've read quite a few posts but what is the final report on these? I would like to try one out but have heard quite a few problems.

I have been interested in this gun for a while.  But have heard of the magazine dropping out of them numerous times and was waiting to see the outcome before picking one up.

I can't find very much info online about them and local dealers here where no help.

You get a warranty with them. Go for it!

I am a glutton for punishment, bought one in December. It still had the mag release problems. Even SIG fmj would dump the mags occasionally. I have my doubts in can be fixed due to the centered mag catch cutout in the mags. Wish I could find a picture of the official fix. The gunsmith I emailed wouldn't say anything other than it wasn't just a stiffer spring.

Two other issues. The gun also shoots low and way left no matter the shooter. I modified and installed a HiViz CZ 75 front fiber sight which helped the elevation. The other problem involved the slide hanging up when returning to battery. Discovered a dent in the cam cut on the barrel that was preventing the slide from fully returning. Pretty sure it was there when I bought it since racking the slide never felt smooth.  A little time with some 600 grit sandpaper seems to have fixed the slide rtb issue. Couldn't get warranty to swap out the barrel, they wanted to see the whole gun. Problem with the warranty is you have to pay shipping to one of their gunsmiths so factor that in. For me it's close to $70 to get Fedex to ship a firearm.

Unless you are a collector I'd pass.

Thank you for the info.. Think I will wait awhile and see if things change.

Wow, sorry you had all those problems. I had the mag drop issue and that is cured now. It did cost a trip to the gunsmith but it was worth it. Never had the dent in the barrel or the sights issue so I can't help you there. I'm a big fan, there are a lot of benefits to it as well, reduced recoil and the brass is much closer to you.

I would like to hear more about your front sight install.  My K100 shoots low and the CZ-75 sight is on the radar. Just wondering how much of a job it is?

I used this one -

Took about 20 minutes with some 600 grit sand paper on a stone to get a snug fit.  You will need to file a cross slot for the pin. I drifted the sight in and then used a drill bit thru the slide to mark the location. I did this twice, 1st try was a 1mm fiber sight off of mu CZ PCR.  It was a good .02" lower than the stock GP front sight. We milled that one at my work and took a little too much off so it was lose in the dovetail. Second one (linked above) is a bigger fiber, much easier to see for me and it fills the notch in the rear sight better. The sanding took longer but got a nice snug fit. Will be shooting it again this weekend so we'll see how it groups with the rear drifted and larger front sight.

I used this one as I already had rear night sights.

I talked about the install a bit on another thread. No big deal, 20 minutes with a fine file.
