Looking for ideas on the next purchase.  already have 1006 and G20.  Grand Power looks interesting.  Maybe 1911 style.  Hoping like crazy that Ruger makes a PC10.  Mp10's are too spendy for what you get.  Hi Point carbine is well...a hi point...  Thanks for the ideas!!

Welcome from one new guy to another.  I was in the same boat not too long ago and looking for my next 10mm.  Lots of fans out there of the 10mm EAA/Tanfoglio guns so that is the direction I went.  I already had a P220 and 1911s in 10mm though.  In addition to the 2 'benchmarks' you have, the 220, EAA, 1911 and Grand Power are the other readily available platforms.  Grand Power probably my least favorite of the 4 but lots of fans of it.  They will all be good and all have some pros and cons depending on what you want it for.

You might take a look at the Witness Hunter.

I'll throw my hat in...

I have a G20 and G29, Sig, Colt Delta, RIA and a GP40.

The G20 and G29 are boringly reliable and reasonably accurate.

The Sig is beautiful, reliable and accurate, but heavy for a single stack.

The Colt Delta and RIA are both reliable and reasonably accurate, but 1911's and magazine limited.

The GP40 took some time and a trip back to the factory before it was 100% reliable, this was due to the magazine release. While it only happened to me when it was new there was always the chance it would do it again. It won't now. Night sights took a while to figure out as the front sight in Tritium was not being imported any more and likely the rear one is not also. However the CZ 75 front sight is a replacement with a little filing on the sight and I suspect the rear sight also. At some point I will purchase one just to see if it fits and the POA is correct. But on the good side, the Grand Power is quite accurate and the recoil (and brass retrieval) is very nice. My guess is the action not being a Browning but a rotating barrel has a lot to do with that. It is currently my favorite and my EDC as well, at least until the weather gets hot again.

But really, you can't go wrong with any of the 10mm choices. I'm looking to get a blackhawk next as well as a Hi Point.

Every 10mm Auto fan should have a Witness.  Tanfoglio and Glock have stood by the cartridge very faithfully.

What do you want to shoot?

I have a couple of 10 mms in 1911 and they just feel good to me.  I just have my first double stack, Tang, EAA Witness Elite Match and while it's heavy It does fit the hand OK.

What do you want this new pistol to shoot?

The RIA guns are solid guns.  Occasionally someone will have some issues with one, but as far as I can recall, RIA has made them right.  I think one member did have to go two trips back...

Not liking Glocks at all, I have 3 1911 10mm pistols and on Tanfoglio. The Tanfoglio also uses double stack mags, so if more rounds is a priority, there you go.

Oh, did I mention? I also have a Mechtech CCU to make one of my 10mm 1911's a carbine. And I have a TNW 10mm dedicated carbine.
Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

THUNDERMAN

Hang around awhile, lots of great info.I also have a RIA 1911 A1 GI that will be at the dealer on mon. I hope I get one of the good ones but I don't expect it to be near as nice as my sig 220.

Norm582, welcome to the forum!  Take your time and if you can actually find some of the guns you're interested in, wrap you hands around them to get a feel for their pointability and the controls.  I would also say that the upper end Witness pistols are a great choice in 10mm.  The new Sig has shown some good results handling the upper end performance of 10mm.  The 1911's are out there but you need to understand their differences of barrel styles and case support form the various manufactures.  The manufacture names can reflect the pricing greatly.

Glocks are what they were designed to do reliably, with fewer parts and less cost.  There are plenty factory and aftermarket parts to keep them running,  Their factory support has been great as well.  I carry the Glock because it work, it trades gun weight for extra ammo weight and if I ever need to use it in a self defense situation and it is held as evidence or lost or stolen, it can be replaced reasonably.
