I love these Montana bullets.  I just loaded up my last 100 of them yesterday in fact.  I guess its time to put in another order.

Will bind in a glock magazine after the 5th round when loaded to 1.250 OAL. I suspect the meplat is too big for the mag.

Otherwise they shot great, no problems with chambering.

Love these bullets.  LOA is an issue.  I am running them at 1.200" with excellent results.

My favorite hunting load is 8.6gr of Longshot

My favorite knockaround load is 7.5gr of Power Pistol.

All my 10mm's are Glock's.  OEM means the barrel that came on the gun.  Other barrel lengths specified are aftermarket stainless steel barrel.  All brass is Starline.  All primers are CCI large pistol std.  LOA is always 1.200" with this 200 gr Montana bullet.  All velocity's are 5 shot averages and have been repeated multiple times.  The G20 runs a 20 pound after market recoil spring.

7.5gr Power Pistol

G29 OEM         1,051 fps
G29 4.7" bbl     1,113 fps
G20 OEM          1,094 fps
G20 5.3" bbl     1,155 fps
G40 OEM          1,144 fps



8.6gr Longshot

G29  4.5" bbl    1,213 fps
G20 OEM           1,165 fps
G20 5.3" bbl      1,247 fps
G40 OEM          1,250 fps

I find the Longshot load above to a little too much for me in the G29.  It is a decent load in the G20 and a gentle load in the G40.  The Power Pistol load above is very reasonable in the G29, soft in the G20 and super soft in the G40.  I did a bunch of accuracy testing with this bullet last summer (It may be posted somewhere here but I don't recall).  But the real point is this bullet is accurate (out to 50 yards so far) with OEM Glock barrels.  And as you can see, nice tight aftermarket barrels typically shoot faster than OEM Glock barrels.

I just recieved 500 of the 180 HP that I will load up for my various 10mm I am of the belief the 180 grain is optimum bullet weight for the 10mm. It gives the perfect balance of power and velocity. I have done some comparative tests in wet news print with thier HP they performed well in apexpansion and penetration.

Received the bullets yesterday and got to load some up today...boy do they feed slick...

Tried some Longshot, 7.6, 8.1 and 8.6 grains to try out Friday when it warms up a little... LOA is 1.230".

Shot the loads yesterday in a Glock 20 w/Lone Wolf barrel, a Kimber Stainless Target II and a PARA-USA Elite LS Hunter.

Accuracy was excellent with the 1911s and of the 35 round fired through the two guns the last round in one of the magazines hung up on the Kimber feedramp. The Kimber ran 5 five round mags full of ammo and that was the only hangup.  The PARA ran two mags flawlessly and ran very tight groups.

Only ran one 5 round mag from the Glock because for it it just plain old HURTS to shoot...and that 5 rounds was with the 7.6 grain load.  I am just not a Glock person especially the large frame ones...

Pressures looked good.  Loaded up 20 more rounds of 8.5 grains to do some more accuracy and velocity testing...  Want to try some with AAC-9 before making a final decision on a load.  Would like to have the bullet running 1200+- fps from a 5" 1911 and this should be about right according to the figures above...
